The Hey Lows blend lofi aesthetics, hip-hop beats, jazz harmony, and improvisation into something new. Led by Lance Loiselle and Brian Citro, the group draws from Chicago’s rich musical heritage to create music that feels both nostalgic and futuristic. Think mellow vibes with mean beats, structure from spontaneity. Their new album, Comer Post, features Clif Wallace on drums and Gerald Bailey on trumpet and electronics. Recorded live at the Gary Comer Youth Center studio on Chicago’s South Side, they reshaped the music in post-production, reimagining sections and adding new layers with fresh parts. Rooted in Chicago’s underground music scene, The Hey Lows offer a fresh take on genre fusion.

Pedway is the freely improvising sax/bass/drums trio from Caroline Davis (Maitri, Matt Wilson), Matthew Golombisky (Tomorrow Music Orchestra) and Quin Kirchner (Wild Belle, NOMO). Born in Chicago in 2006 out of a collective love of creating new music without speaking a word.

Music producer, composer, multi-instrumentalist from Chicago.

A 2025 City of Chicago Individual Artists Program awardee, Brian Citro’s been playing and writing music on the guitar for 30 years. He studied with Fareed Haque and is a longtime member of The Drastics. He’s performed and toured with JC Brooks and the Uptown Sound, Ted Sirota’s Heavyweight Dub!, Ackah Blay in Ghana, and many others. Brian’s jazz quartet features Nick Mazzarella, Quin Kirchner, and Matt Ulery, and he co-leads The Hey Lows with multi-instrumentalist Lance Loiselle. Other projects include short video works with award-winning poet (and his uncle) Christopher Citro. Brian is also a human rights lawyer. He’s lived, worked, and played music in Africa, Asia, Europe, and Latin America.
