My S.O. had a joint concert coming up, between a brass quintet and a sax quintet... I was asked to write something for both of them, so I did a quick arrangement of one of my favorite tunes from one of my favorite chiptune artists.

For barely getting any practice time (some hadn't seen the piece prior to this recording), I'm happy with how quick they picked it up. I just wanted them to have a fun tune to go out with, and it seems like they all enjoyed it :)

[CHIPTUNE COVER] Hiveswap Friendsim - it be like that sometimes

Here's a theme I made for an old character who's been reworked into a different version of his story. I was sort of going for the feel of the kind of thing you hear playing in the background while interacting with him in a visual novel like setting (Friendsim for example). 

If you've followed me for a long time you might recognize both the character and the melodies used in this. It's essentialy a revamp of the old "Lotus Pensionnary" song. I like being able to see how far this story of mine has gone and changed over the years, along with the characters and what happens to them.  So this is kind of a way for me to assess it I guess? 
Normally I'd be saying something like "this is the theme you'd be hearing in this game I want to make" but at this point I think I'm just fine with posting this as it is. I'm gonna run out of space on this account anyway so might as well put out a few enjoyable things before it happens. I haven't really been able to really sit down and make music like I used to in a long time anyway. Hopefully people enjoy this as much as I enjoyed making it.

Pleasant Melancholy

I am obsessed with Mari's theme from the game OMORI which is an amazing game so I had to make this. I did try remaking the song from scratch but as I suck and I know half the notes wouldn't end up in it I resorted to helping myself from the really cool and good sheet music made by Pianobin, who made the arrangement. The original track was composed by Pedro Silva from the OMORI music team of course.

I couldn't help but want to hear what this would sound like with the now famous Earthbound mellow piano used in Toriel's theme (along with the pads from there too). It's kind of more like just adding pointless flourish on top of an already more than amazing track, but oh well. I hope this makes you feel peaceful and if you played or watched the game I hope it makes you cry like I did (:

By Your Side (OMORI Remix)

The soundtrack I immediatly knew would be stuck in my head forever the second I heard it. This here is my kinda shit, obviously.
Anyway I just felt like trying to recreate it (very poorly) and I guess also put a neat little transition between the original version and the piano one. It isn't much and it's pretty lazy but I had a little fun doing it at least.

The original theme was composed by Pedro Silva and Jamie Lynne.

Welcome To White Space (OMORI "remix" )

I just HAD to try and remake Basil's theme from OMORI because I love him so much. This one is based on the Daisy version of the song I think. I actually managed to retranscribe all the notes this time while helping myself with Pianobin's tutorial to know where the chords were, because I can't recognize this stuff on my own. I wasn't sure what instruments I'd be going for but I eventually picked some piano from Mother 3, and a harp sound I like from some other soundfont, and some really drowned out celesta I sort of burried in the background with so much reverb it almost sounds like a whistle.

I hope this sounds good enough, even though it isn't as much as I would have liked to do with this song.
