Some times the music just magically comes out, and that is the case here with "Syria" by new Sol*Selectas artist Unders from Amsterdam. After several successful tunes above the 120 BPM mark on labels like Sincopat and Groove On, "Syria" was Unders' first attempt at slower grooves, and an accidental experiment that just "fell into place, and was automatic magic". Syria's current political unrest is all over the news and social media, and the story being painted is difficult to watch. Driven to create a song which goes against all the negative publicity, Unders says "between all the negativity, the more i looked into the situation, the country, its people and its culture, the more this track reminded me of so much beauty the media doesn’t portray." The song itself a slow minimal trip with chopped up guitar licks, a gorgeous flute sample that takes the listener to far off desert lands, and features the vocals of Veerle. Satori is yet another up and coming producer from the Netherlands, gaining instant recognition sharing the stage and studio with Acid Pauli, and producing incredible tunes utilizing live instruments played by himself, and tastefully incorporating these with electronic elements. His remix preserves the original message of "Syria" lowering the BPM to an even more hypnotic 104 BPMs. Satori adds middle eastern strings and chords, swapping out the original vocal for a more Saharan inspired call, and even plays delicately with some acid sounds furthering the listeners journey. 
Both songs are meant to invoke peaceful images of Syria, and conjure up positive intention on the dance floor. Sol*Selectas is very excited to present the debut song "Syria" from Unders, and the amazing remix by Satori, two artists from the Netherlands you would do well to keep your eyes and ears open to in 2016.

Unders - Syria (Satori Remix)

Dinky has come forward with “Casa”, the first single from her forthcoming album due out this autumn on Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels label. The tracks were recorded whilst she was resting at home, pregnant with her second son. Due to a medical risk, Dinky was forced to stay in bed and decided to keep herself busy by writing music.

Whilst the original features summery, almost blissful vocal hooks interspersed with acid bass gurgles, Satori’s remix takes thing down an altogether more turbulent route. Initially ambient and spaced out, it then morphs into a driving techno track, combined with reverberating pads and choral wails.

"Der „Überbringer" stammt aus einer Schaffensperiode Anfang des Jahres 2019, welche letztendlich in drei Releases gemündet ist. Dieser Song aber war immer nur ein Kopie von etwas besserem. Als ich dann von Isabeau Fort bei einer Partie Eis in diesem Spätsommer von der Afterhour-Compilation gehört hatte, habe ich mich entschieden, mich dafür noch einmal an diesen Track zu wagen. Ich habe dann alle Ungenauigkeiten über Bord geworfen, mich in den Bässen wieder mehr an meiner „Verbrennungsmotor"-Ep orientiert und meine schon eingesungene Stimme mit einer warmen Synthie-Line untermalt. Plötzlich war die Sache stimmig und ich bin total glücklich mit dem Resultat."

Nature of Consciousness

Born in Iran, raised by the rhythm. My love for music began in the late '90s, when electronic music was taking off and I was just starting to discover it myself. I began making beats in FL Studio and Reason, and as I learned more about music theory, Ableton Live became my creative home.

My sound blends tech house, downtempo, oriental house, and organic grooves, all driven by deep emotion and Middle Eastern influences. Artists like Acid Pauli, Rampue, Satori, Oceanvs Orientalis, and Be Svendsen have inspired me along the way, but I always follow my own feeling when I create.

I have released music with TRNDMSK, Café De Anatolia, and other great labels. One of the highlights of my career has been my residency at IKON in Dubai, with unforgettable nights full of energy, connection, and love from the crowd.

Although I usually produce on my own, I am always open to collaborations and bookings. Making music can feel lonely sometimes, but I have two amazing kids who are my biggest fans, dancing around me like little Duracell bunnies while I work.

For me, music is more than just sound. It is a stress release, a universal language, and a way to bring people together. If you are nodding your head and feeling the vibe, then the mission is working.
