As a label that’s been growing for just over five years now, there are certain artists who’ve shaped our journey long before we even knew we’d start one. DJ Caspa @tundecas41 is one of those djs. We’ve been listening to his sets for more than a decade, long before the idea of launching this podcast series was even a thought. And if there’s one thing that’s stayed consistent all these years, it’s the sheer quality of what he delivers. But Caspa’s story runs even deeper. He picked up mixing at around the young age of 16, and from that moment on, music became a life path. Growing up during the acid house and Balearic era, the spark was lit early. His first love was Jungle Music and like any true selector, his vinyl collection exploded fast. He chased fresh sounds relentlessly, from early radio sessions in the '90s on stations like Weekend Rush, Pressure FM, Rinse FM, Unknown FM, Deja Vu, and Magic FM, all the way through to building one of the most respected Sunday shows on Rinse FM itself. Caspa lived through multiple waves of dance music, growing to a seasoned club DJ. He’s played up and down the UK and regularly traveled abroad. The sound on this podcast is 100% unreleased music from his friends in the scene. In addition to his club and radio legacy, DJ Caspa also curates his own acclaimed podcast series Upfront & Personal, known for hosting high-calibre guests such as Chris Stussy, Mr G, Djoko, Josh Butler, Anotr, Sidney Charles, Larry da Kat and many more. Feature Breaks Show by Dima RUNE #005

Where do we start with this one.  Started off as a regular guest mix show with  Emma (aka em_laa) who previously appeared on the show back at the start of the year.
However we were having so much fun that when we cut the feed for the radio we carried on for another 2hrs.  Yes that's right this is an almost four hour mix.
And I can tell you it's chock full of sexy smooth deep house and soulful house goodness.  It's hard to tell who is playing at any given time, unless you know our sound and music collections really well.
Unfortunately this mix is so long there is very little chance of me being able to do a tracklist!!  I apologise.
I'm shazam will guess a decent number of them, but if you want to know just ask in the comments.

Bio:
A true creative, Ricco finds inspiration in music by exploring sounds through DJing and producing. Ricco is a passionate house music enthusiast with a focus on funky, deep, and rhythm-rich sounds that blend Latin, Tech and Afro influences. With almost 3 decades of djing under his belt, Ricco has held a handful of residencies in Vancouver, including Goodhousekeeping at Fortune Sound Club, La Discotech at Modern, Fast Life at Republic and Lotus Sound Lounge. Major Festival appearances include Basscoast Festival, Shambhala Music Festival and Valhalla Music Festival. Additionally, ricco has also played at some of Vancouver’s most notable music venues such as Beaumont Studios, Gorg-O-Mish, Open Studios, and the internationally acclaimed Commodore Ballroom. 

Direct support includes a laundry list of international acts such as Gene Farris, Claptone, Derrick Carter, Mark Farina, Sebastien Leger, Sandy Rivera, Justin Jay, Dennis Ferrer, Zombie Disco Squad, Metro Area, Cut Chemist, 
 Ardalan, Dam Swindle, J.Phlip, The Greenskeepers, Pillow Talk, Johnny Fiasco, Fashmob, DJ ILLO, The Funk Hunters, Jesse Bru, DJ Heather, Tony 
 Quattro, DJ Spider and Lawnchair Generals. 

Recently, Ricco has dipped his toes into producing, having produced, remixed and collaborated on over a dozen releases since his production journey began 2020. 

As comfortable behind the decks as he is behind the scenes, Ricco is actively involved in the music scene through event curation under the JK Gaultier brand, hosting Goodhousekeeping Radio on Bside Radio, a monthly residency (Cue Club at the Fox Cabaret), the JKG Mix Series, stage curating for Valhalla Music Festival and a committee member for the Junos Awards Underground Dance Single of the Year. 

The joy of seeing people from all walks of life on his dance floors is what keeps Ricco motivated; making someone’s day better through music, song and dance.
