"He is really a good husband and a doting father" she says.  The Levants have three teenage daughters.  Oscar is different she admits but her own married life has been fascinating."

Note:  Red Skelton or his secretary recorded several broadcasts of THE OSCAR LEVANT SHOW in this fashion; two reel to reel decks with a microphone set up to a television speaker;  they switched sequentially between decks at each half hour, resulting with 3 tapes and no lost program gaps between reels.  Occasionally you hear an extraneous noise in the room where the machines and TV set were located; the static or hum from the television screen or the hum of the tape deck motors.  Also, there are occasional transmission noises inherent with over the air broadcasting.  The noise/hiss reduction performed was minimal and there was no adjustment to the equalization of the two monaural tracks on the tape, which were mixed to a single mono track.  By listening, you hear that there were some microphones on stands and others on booms: as the Levant's and their guests move about the studio stage and back and forth to the piano, there are brief moments were the voice audio level drops as the boom operator swings his microphone into a more ideal place to pick up the sound. No present day corrections were made to compensate for this.
