Charm City Babie, like most, grew up in some of the roughest neighborhoods of East Baltimore. Despite all of the negative influences around him he always had an artistic view of the world. As a kid Charm would drawl anime and write poems then share his artwork with his friends and classmates in school. It wasn’t until he heard his older brother rapping over a beat that he was inspired to do music. Influenced by his older brother,his brother’s best-friend YTL Gangis and other artists like Lil Wayne , 50 cent , Eminem, Dr.Dre, and The Game, Charm started writing at the age of 12. But being wrapped up in street gangs and being well known and respected as a gang member/leader caused the young artist to become distracted from his music and artistic ability. He always knew he had the talent to be great but the popularity from having rank in the streets transpired a series of events including the imprisonment of his older brother. This had a huge effect on Charm considering how close they were and soon caused Charm to fall into depression. Resorting to drugs and alcohol to ease the pain, Charm knew he had to make a change. Seeing his brother behind bars and some of the other gang members get killed in the streets made Charm think about his life and what he wanted his future to look like, so he decided to turn a new leaf. He knew that if he didn't walk away from the streetlife his fate wouldn't be much different. He would always get positive feedback when he freestyled in cyphers with his peers, so he decided to channel all of his pain, hurt, anger and depression, and put it into his raps. It took years for Charm to take his music seriously and chase his dream but influenced by his best-friend $mooth Water 4am his older brother and other artist like Poethelegend and BKM, Charm started recording tracks and soon dropped his first real track "Way Up"...the rest is history! stay tuned for more to come and expect greatness as you are witnessing the Rise of one the greatest music influentials of ALL TIME!!
