Thank you for checking out this latest mix of mine. This one is something a bit different and is completely inspired by my experience at Boomtown Fair at the Tribe of Frog Stage. I've enjoyed Psytrance at many events and collected tracks over the years, but this experience was to a different level and has motivated me to recording this mix of older and new Psytrance. I have absolutely loved putting this mix together. This is only just the beginning!

So I decided to re-record my first ever recorded mix last week. A mix I did a year after buying my first decks and stared mixing back in 2005. 

I recorded the mix as I had upgraded from belt drives to direct drives. Stuck it up for download on a old site called Wax DJ. I got on a radio show from it, and from that show I got a residency, got on an agency, started my label, etc etc. 

Over the 15 years before Wax DJ shut down that mix and many others got daft plays of 140000 plus. Shame it shut down, well there's a shell site of it but all the old DJ mixes including my own and many other have gone. 

So I listened to that mix last week, and it was awful. Shit transitions, bpm all over, double beats you could row a boat with. Eqs all over, volumes/gains all over, etc etc Trainwreck city. Well tbf it was my first recorded mix ever and on shit equipment and I was still learning to mix vinyl, but I have heard worse. I am kinda proud of it still as bad as it is.

So yeah billy big bollocks here, thought yeah. I'll do it again. Fuck me it was harder now than it was then. It's took me a fucking week!. Obviously back then I had no idea of how bpm works or how tracks go together, so getting that tracklist in the same order was a ballache. I probably wouldn't have played it in that order now, but it still kinda of works. But hell, my ears are fucked now, so I dunno anymore ha ha. 

Anyway here it is, the 2022 version. Oh and below the tracklist I've added a link to the original first 2005 vinyl mix too for fun. But man I miss mixing like that and not giving a fuck about bpm, mixing the right tracks together, trying to be perfect and just playing for fun, man take me back!

Music has been a huge influence throughout my life. Growing up listening to the likes of Prodigy, Chemical Brothers and Fat Boy through to Trance music when it was at its peak back in the late 90's - early 00's. 
I'm a massive fan of all genres of music. Any good musician can move you by their music. 
There's no denying though that there is something special about Dance music. Whether its Uplifting Trance, House, Techno or Drum and Bass, it can move you like no other genre. A good bass line or kick is all you need....
