Imagine waking up in a land where the morning news is a monotonous chorus of praise for the Leader, a man who claims to have single-handedly saved the country from imaginary enemies. The airwaves are filled with his image, his voice, his decrees. Every channel, every station, every billboard blares his greatness. The former land of the free has morphed into a stage for one man’s ego trip.
Picture a place where elections are mere theatrical performances. The ballots are rigged, and the results are preordained. Voter suppression? That's just child's play. Now, it's all about outright manipulation, where the only choice is the Leader or... well, there isn't another choice. Voting becomes a ceremonial gesture to placate the masses, a hollow echo of democracy's past.

In this new America, dissent is dangerous. Speak out against the regime, and you might find yourself labeled a traitor, a domestic terrorist, or worse. The freedom to protest, to assemble, to voice your opinion? Kiss it goodbye. The Leader's goons patrol the streets, ready to quash any hint of resistance with batons, tear gas, and unmarked vans.

Freedom of the press? Forget about it. Journalists become targets, their pens broken, their voices silenced. The media, once the watchdog of democracy, is now the lapdog of tyranny. News outlets that dare to challenge the narrative are shut down, their reporters imprisoned, or worse. The truth is whatever the Leader says it is.

The judicial system, once a pillar of fairness and justice, is now a tool of oppression. Judges are handpicked for their loyalty, not their integrity. The courts rubber-stamp the Leader’s whims, and laws are twisted to serve the regime’s needs. Justice becomes a mockery, a charade played out in kangaroo courts.
Educational institutions are transformed into indoctrination centers. History is rewritten, science is ignored, and critical thinking is stamped out. Students are taught to obey, not to question, to follow, not to lead. The arts and humanities are gutted, replaced with propaganda that glorifies the Leader and his regime.
The economy is a playground for the elite, the Leader's cronies who grow fat on corruption and cronyism. Wealth inequality skyrockets as the rich get richer and the poor are left to fend for themselves. Social safety nets are dismantled, public services are privatized, and the American Dream becomes a distant memory for all but the privileged few.

In this dystopian vision, the spirit of America is crushed under the weight of authoritarianism. Liberty, justice, and equality are sacrificed at the altar of power. The land of the free becomes the land of the fearful, and the home of the brave becomes the home of the broken.

But it doesn't have to be this way. We can resist the siren call of fascism, stand up for our rights, and defend our democracy. Because if we don't, this nightmare could become our reality. - 💦 Rick Gaspa

While I’m no Beyoncé, we poured our heart and soul into crafting something elegant and impactful for this project. What we’ve produced is a reflection of our dedication and creativity. There's a feeling in the air, and you can almost touch it. It's that electric buzz, that whisper of change. It's the Harris-Walz ticket, bringing back the joy, bringing back the hope, bringing back the America we know we can be.

I wrote this latest tune while at the Democratic National Convention and finished it on the flight back to Las Vegas yesterday. Veterans Against Trump: We’re Not Suckers, We’re the Backbone. 

The Veterans Against Trump Tour is rolling full steam ahead, and boy, did we make some noise in Washington, DC. We’re not just whistling Dixie—we came to remind America that we’re veterans, not “suckers and losers.” It seems Trump missed the memo when he insulted the very people who fought for his right to butcher the English language in his Twitter rants.

Let’s be clear: We served. We sacrificed. We’ve seen things Trump couldn’t even imagine from the safety of his golden throne. And now, we’re done with his endless betrayals. He’ll call us losers from the comfort of Mar-a-Lago, but we’re here in the streets, fighting back like we’ve done all our lives—because our voices matter. And let me tell you, they’re getting louder by the day.

Trump might think veterans are his political props, but he’s dead wrong. We’re a force. And we're tired of his disrespect. His record speaks for itself—a draft-dodging bone spur king who loves to hug the flag but treats veterans like they’re just collateral damage in his endless ego war. Remember the time he couldn’t be bothered to visit a cemetery for the fallen in France? Rain or shine, we went into battle; Trump couldn’t handle a drizzle.

The Veterans Against Trump tour is more than a protest—it’s a reminder. We’re not his pawns. We’re not his PR stunts for a photo op. We’re the ones who wore the uniform, and we’re taking a stand against a man who pretends to care about our service while cutting benefits and degrading our sacrifices behind closed doors.

So here’s our message: We’re not here for the theatrics, and we’re definitely not here for Trump’s reality show version of America. We’re taking a stand for our brothers and sisters in arms, for the values we fought for, and against a man who doesn’t even know the meaning of the word “honor.”

We’ll keep marching, keep shouting, and keep reminding everyone—we’re veterans, not suckers. And this time, it’s Trump who’ll be losing.

I’ve been wanting to write a song to uplift everyone affected by Hurricane Helene for quite some time, and I’m thrilled to finally share that it’s finished!
