This playlist contains all the entries for our Journey Through Trance 2025 DJ Competition.

We will use SoundCloud feedback to inform our judging process, if you've entered don't forget to share your mix far and wide. If you're listening then don't forget to leave your honest opinions, if it's a close call at the end this could be the deciding factor!

✅ How to Enter ✅

1. Craft a captivating 45-minute mix worthy of closing our highly acclaimed trance classics event. Ensure your tracks are from the 2000 and earlier era—specifically, releases from the golden years 2000, 1999, 1998, and earlier.

2. Upload your mix to SoundCloud with ‘OTR Journey Through Trance Competition Entry’ in the title.

3. In the SoundCloud description, provide a detailed tracklist along with the release date of each track.

4. Share your mix in the comments section of the main Facebook post, including a brief paragraph about what this opportunity means to you.

5. Don’t forget to like and share the post!


The closing date is Fri 10th Jan. 
The winner will be announced on or before Fri 17th Jan.


📏 Rules 📏

1. The main prize is a 90-minute closing set at our classics event on Fri 31st Jan. The runner-up prize is a 1-hour set at the pre-party.

2. Your mix must consist exclusively of trance classics released in the years 2000, 1999, 1998, and earlier (later remixes released after the year 2000 are not allowed).

3. There are no BPM restrictions; however, please keep in mind that the prize is a closing set, so let your creativity shine!

4. Computer created entries are not allowed e.g. mixed in Ableton. Winner must be competent on a Pioneer NXS2 setup.

5. Please make sure you have read and understood all of the rules before entering.

6. You must be 18+ to enter, be available on Fri 31st Jan and capable of getting to & from the event at your own cost.

🎧 DJ Competition Update - Final 9 🎧

A huge thank you to everyone who submitted an entry for our DJ competition, a lot of hard work has gone into these entries by everyone involved so thank you from everyone at OTR for all your efforts. It's been a pleasure listening to these over Christmas and into the new year, in total we had 45 entries (thats over 33 hours of music) and we have been working hard listening to, and shortlisting all the entries. 

We have a judging panel of 3 and have been judging based on the following criteria:

1) Track Selection
2) Mixing Ability
3) Set Progression
4) Does it hit the closing set brief

The winner will be taking over the decks from our headliner Rob Tissera and will play a 90min set featuring the very best tracks from the golden years of trance (2000 and earlier) 😍

The runner up will win a set at our legendary pre party!

To everyone who missed out this time, please don't be disappointed, there were some fantastic mixes and shortlisting hasn't been easy. We now have a long list of names for possible future opportunities, so keep your heads held high 😁

We hope many of you can still make the event on the 31st Jan, please come say hello, it would be great to meet some of you in person and have a chat 🙌

- We are aiming to annouce the winner and runner up by this Friday, 17th Jan. If we need more time to decide we will let you know via our Facebook page. 

- Both the winner and runner up will be decided by our team of judges, the judges decision is final 

- The order of mixes in the playlist is the order in which they were received and in no way represents our current prferences or any kind of scoring
