The sun is setting an hour earlier and chilly evenings spent in front of the fire are replacing afternoon barbecues and poolside adventures. The windows can stay down in the car but the heat stays blasting to fight the first gripping tendrils of winter. The fall is beautiful though, and it has always been a time for introspection and looking to the past and future. I've been thinking a lot about everything that's happening and I sort of think that this mix of songs reflects that. Melancholy and nostalgia aren't unfamiliar partners to ride with, but they sure feel good to cuddle up with when its cold outside and you're lying in bed with your headphones on thinking about somewhere a little warmer.

PREMIERE - 40 Thieves - Shake You Off (Shubostar Remix) (Roam Recordings)

Balearic Ensemble locks in for another round, this time welcoming Statues to the fold with Power Hour, a five-track voyage through shimmering synthwork, pulsating grooves, and deep dancefloor mystique. Three originals, two heavyweight remixes—tried, tested, and ready to roll.

The title track Power Hour sets the pace—tight, kinetic, a late-night charge built for motion. Steve Carr takes the wheel for the remix, stripping it back and stretching it out, all lush textures and low-end sway. A heads-down moment with eyes on the horizon.

Then there’s Starlights, a slow-burning dream wrapped in warmth. Pete Blaker works his alchemy, spinning it into an eight-minute tribal glide—delicate, expansive, locked into the groove. Vintage synth fetishist Italo Brutalo brings you his superb sophomore album Second Horizon, released 29th May on his and his girlfriend very own Bungalo Disco label. The German producer possesses an incredible armoury of retro analogue synths, and he certainly knows how to use them. And push them to their limits. Congratulations, listener. You are about to step into an alternate electronic universe.

Kicking off with City Sight, every synth is a joy. Warm tones, clear, crisp symbols and snares. A beautiful melody intertwined with acid tweaks and dreamy vocoder vocals, sounding almost more keys than voice. And that 80s drum machine line. There are five different decades where this modern classic would feel right at home.

You want it darker? Here comes Memory Sync, bursting through your loading screen like an end of level baddy. Press ‘play’ and you will know exactly what I mean. The hi hat and kick drum pattern on Digital Freedom is to die for, the acid bass and Italo disco melody giving your day an instant serotonin boost.

Surveillance State kicks the tempo up more than a notch, this eerie 3-D soundscape literally makes you feel as though you are being watched by a Machiavellian force. You can literally feel the paranoia oozing from your speakers. Technology is like a souped-up Kraftwerk 33 played on 45. Close your eyes and imagine stop-frame footage of robots in a car factory. Just brilliant. Heiss Oder Kalt (Hot Or Cold) is a perfect title for this lush mix of warm and cool synths, with a vocal sample reminiscent of a mad scientist.

Chasing Shadows, The first single to be released from Second Horizon, is just damn well exciting. It’s like you’re driving K.I.T.T. on turbo boost, in pursuit of the Midnight Express. Strap yourself in as Italo Brutalo hits the TB-303 button on the console for an acid fuel injection. Just when you thought it couldn’t get better, the joyous robotic vocal kicks in. I dare you to try and stay still whilst Chasing Shadows plays. It’s impossible.

Free To Move takes the tempo down a notch, robotic melodies dancing with each other in beautiful synchronicity, giving life to a beautiful android, leading perfectly into Black Gold, a soundscape rich enough to deserve to grace a Hollywood masterpiece.

Human Code is a perfect companion piece to City Sight. Drop this one in a club and see the reaction. Pure bliss. Then comes dark and sleazy low tempo I am a creator pulls you into the thought process of Italo Brutalo, before Tonight finishes this perfect long player off to a joyous, satisfying conclusion.

Musical visionaries often find it difficult to write that difficult second album. With Second Horizon, Italo Brutalo has brought you an original masterpiece. Enjoy.

The second Keep on Wankin EP continues Hell Yeah label boss Marco’s on going quest for the perfect remixes. This time out he serves up the most Balearic Gabba influenced material yet and takes you on a trip to the clouds with Bjorn Torske and Fango both stepping up.

First up is Bjorn Torske’s take on everybody’s favourite Luminodisco tune ‘Oh Mary.’ It’s an impossibly adventurous 11 minute epic with buoyant chords dancing over trilling guitars. Lush, multi-layered and brimming with musicality, this is the sort of dubbed out yet percussively lively masterpiece that will mark the high point of any set as it washes over you time and time again.

Then it’s to Fango’s chunky and spaced out take on Somerville & Wilson’s ‘Yantar.’ It’s been the final track of all recent Fango sets around the world for a while now and that won’t change any time on thanks to the slow build to a colourful dub disco peak. It takes you ever higher on wandering lead synths as the fat drums pump away below.

Essential stuff.

We are excited to present the Taubira Remixes.
Two years ago we shared Dombrance's Taubira to celebrate the artist's debut show on American soil. That show was at the first of our legendary Bowery Ballroom parties in New York City.

We loved this track so much we persuaded the mighty Dombrance to let us compile a remix EP to give the track a new lease of life.

We have assembled a crack team of remixers - all of them frequent collaborators - dear to our hearts!

PRINS THOMAS / ICHISAN / JAMES ROD / JOSH LUDLOW


The package opens with the hypnotic, arpeggiated excellence of the original before handing the reins to the assembled remix team. The mixes are bookended by two adaptations from new kid on the block Josh Ludlow who opens things with a powerful club edit with a deep, heady feel and closes out with a pumping 80’s Italo rework. Between these two variations, we have the ‘Clan Disko Dub’ from respected Slovenian producer Ichisan who teams up with the Gouranga Clan to go down a percussive & acidic route. Alongside this, Spain’s James Rod turns in an extended and intense revision that takes things into tripped out, late-night territory.
At the centre of all this is the jewel in an already gleaming crown as Norwegian Cosmic God Prins Thomas takes the track down a psychedelic bass trip - stretched out over a blissful eleven minutes to create something truly timeless.
