Higher / Afters were created together to reflect the typical clubbing experience for when we all get back to the clubs. 'Higher' is an energetic, feel-good rave record with a euphoric breakdown to reminisce sharing 'a moment' with mates on the dancefloor. In contrast, 'Afters' reflects the more melodic & experimental vibe you might find after the club, either on the way home or at an after-hours party.

An artist with over 10 years of experience in the game, German artist Heron has been embedded within the techno scene whilst establishing his profile as a producer, DJ and remixer of note. Having gained support from leading figures such as Richie Hawtin early in his career, the following years have welcomed a slew of solo material and collaborations alongside the likes of Inner City’s Ann Saunderon and Dantiez Saunderson landing via legendary labels including Soma and KMS Records. Following releases via Unknown Territory across 2020, his first release of 2021 sees a debut appearance on VIVa MUSiC sister label iVAV Recordings as he delivers his four-track ‘Step Into The Light’ EP - with the EP dedicated to his late friend, Phillip aka Iceberg. Lead cut ‘Arpolution’ reveals a paired back production that takes cues from its title as warping arpeggios meet crisp percussion and echoed vocals to offer up a classy opener, whilst ‘Reponse’ ups the energy as meandering leads and icy hats take hold. Next up, ‘The D’ welcomes the introduction of low-slung, menacing basslines guided by metallic drums and rich stabs, before title cut ‘Step Into The Light’ closes the show in style, offering up a deep journey through bright melodies, resonant keys and laser sharp drum licks.
