Hazy orange words buzzed on the screens around the airport, line after line read the same word: 'Delayed'. She sat on the floor amongst all the other disgruntled customers, pondering how long she'd be here before an update sounded across the tannoy. She had always hated travelling but she didn't mind waiting. It offered time for thought and contemplation, and that had become something of a rarity nowadays...

Glasgwegian native Andy Graham AKA Sei A returns to his regular home Aus Music for what marks his fourth studio album, Kinetic Action, and the first full length since 2016's Space In Your Mind. Known for his ability to weave subtle melodies throughout his productions, be it sparse dub or hypnotic techno, Sei A has crafted a distinct sound that shines across his lengthy discography. Alongside the album, Aus Music call on the remix duties of two UK techno mainstays, Surgeon and Hodge, who each bring their razor sharp touch to the originals.

London born and based musician and multi-instrumentalist ​Zeb Samuels will be releasing his latest single, '​Positive Spirit' on 7 August via his own label ​Deep Heads​. The single is lifted from his upcoming EP, ​Vibration Exploration which will be available on the 21st of August and features ​Marc Cyril (who has worked with ​Joss Stone and ​Keziah Jones​) on bass, ​Byron Wallen (previously worked alongside ​George Benson​, ​Chaka ​Khan and ​Courtney ​Pine​) on trumpet and flugelhorn and ​Mcknasty (who has worked alongside ​Kammal ​Willaims​) on drums. The musician has seen support from a number of tastemaker publications, including the likes of ​CLASH, Magnetic Magazine, XLR8R, Electronic Groove and ​Decoded Magazine as well as airplay from ​BBC Radio 6 Music's
 
Gilles Peterson and ​Nemone​, ​5FM's ​Kid Fonque's​, by Belgium Tastemaker ​Lefto and ​Soulection ​Radio's Joe Kay. As a label owner, ​Zeb Samuels has worked alongside many rising artists, including the likes of ​SYNKRO, Djrum​, ​Joe Armon- Jones​, ​Congi and ​Geode.
Self-confessed music fanatic, ​Zeb Samuels grew up in London. This allowed for an abundance of music at his doorstep which would ultimately develop his appreciation for a wide variety of sounds and eventually lead to the self-taught pianist operating as a songwriter, producer and vocalist.

When discussing influences for the EP, ​Zeb Samuels cited to the variegated likes of Boards of Canada, Pink Floyd, Robert Glasper and ​LTJ Bukem​. His own sound reflects these influences, drawing strong parallels to the likes of ​Yussef Dayes, Alfa Mist, ​Mansur Brown ​and ​Portico​ ​Quartet​ coming to play while at the same time, maintaining its own unique integrity.

Opening with soulful jazzy soundscapes that draw you deeper into their waters, ​'Positive Spirit' acts as a cool breath of fresh air on a warm summer night. Radiating tranquil energy, ​Zeb Samuels ​envelopes a maturity within his sound, metaphorically easing the listener into its sonic arms. Made for open spaces as the listener gazes at the stars, the single is sure to bring peace of mind to all who listen to it.

Speaking of '​Positive Spirit'​, ​Zeb Samuels tells us: ​'I feel like this is a track that is an unveiling of a new light and embodies positivity amongst the dark times that we have encountered recently.'

On this EP, AKWIUS utilizes a grimey, bass focused hybrid of rave and post rave theories to explore moods of the current dystopian utopia from a Mexican American perspective and push beyond boundaries of contemporary rave aesthetics.

The rain was coming down thick and fast, providing some respite from the scorching sun that had commandeered weather reports for the last month. Thunderous rumblings from overhead had never been so welcome, it felt wonderful listening to the heavens open from the comfort of their four walls. For now at least, but it wouldn't be long before they'd be willing the sun to return once more...

Censor Records call on the talents of London Modular Alliance for their next release, a four track EP from core member Phil Ventre, backed up by a remix from label boss Alex Jann. Ventre's background co-running synth shop London Modular plays into his innate ability for crafting meticulous rhythms and singular sound palettes, with his Glass Cannon EP bringing wigged-out mechanics, synth stabs and lo-slung shuffling drum patterns in abundance.

As he lay there shivering, his eyes firmly focussed on the ceiling up above, he was transfixed and caught up in a state of terror which hypnotised his body and left him cold. He'd been having these night visions for some time, hallucinations and wild dreams which felt as if they might blur the lines between reality and fantasy. The darkness engulfed him and swallowed him whole, it left a bitter taste upon the tongue and he couldn't keep track of the times he'd half scared himself to death during the night. 

Otik is a versatile producer with a unique take and approach to electronic music. His sound is hazy and distinct, channeling rough soundscapes and weird ambience atop rugged drum beats and bass weight which lends a nod to UK dance culture of old. His new EP on Shall Not Fade is perhaps the best example of this yet.
