Whether it be his house or techno output Bailey is one of Europes most bankable and celebrated artists having released on a myriad of labels since the early nineties, which makes him a perfect choice for Christian Smiths Tronic imprint.

In Congonhas we see Bailey in typical form; bombastic, bolshi and determined to squeeze the maximum out of every element of his track. From the steady, filtered and dub referencing stab hits to the rolling bass and breathtakingly colossal builds Congonhas is a dead cert as one of this summers true dancefloor bombs.

That said, its b-side cohort, Upgrade, is no shrinking violet either. Slower in pace and less incessant than Congonhas but with a lurching bottom heavy funk and cleverly restrained drops, its a superb alternative which broadens the package appeal even further.

Hollow Realization

This set was recorded on my first trip to South Africa, where I performed at a festival and a free show in Soweto alongside local artists Vinny da Vinci , Dj Fresh, Euphonik, Culoe de Song and LSG. All tour dates were partnered with non-profit organisation Bridges for Music. The aim was to use music to break down socio-economic boundaries bringing people from different communities together .
