"I feel like the rap world is the forum where I can express myself, tell my story, drop jewels and talk my shit. This is an introduction for most and to some, a continuation of me being me: thoro, witty and crass. And I also get to represent a new generation of young Canadians who aren't afraid to let you know where they're from. This ain't a balling ass, trapping ass, shoot em up record though it may contain elements of that from my perspective. All these niggas dropping music for the financially rich. This music is for the spiritually rich. I recorded most of this album in Toronto, at my crib, in my boxers and under the influence. Which means it's personal. So you know, I probably dragged some songs out too long. Meh. Might have too many beat switches. I don't care. Too many tracks? That's cool. Fuck, I don't like 2 minute songs and formulas. We'll I like 'em but I don't make 'em so enjoy this long ass 19-track project. This is a passion project. It just so happens to be the first album. I made it free because I love you. Oh, and I dedicate this album and especially the track 'My City' to Boston and every city experiencing mass tragedies. Bless."

"This song is about me coming to terms with shit in my life and being
real with myself. I usually smile and brush shit off like nothing can
dent my armor but in my head i have insecurities and doubts like the
next man. The same way you got to live with regrets, you also have to
live with the truth. It's inescapable. Many try and hide from their
own truths because they fear failure, non-acceptance, or maybe it's a
pride issue. Either way, this is me venting because I felt I needed
to. I'd be lying if I said this wasn't one of my more personal songs
but I'd be dying if I didn't share it with you."

Toronto’s own Rich Kidd has been Canada’s best-kept secret since his ascension from local underground stardom to national fame in the past couple of years. The architect of a new sound coming from T Dot, Rich has been steadily amassing praise from industry greats and music critics for his 360-degree musical vision: as an inspirational artist, world-class producer, and captivating performer.
 
Ever since his fist production credit as a 16-year old on Frank and Dank’s “Get Right Song”, he’s amassed a commanding body of work. The compilation series We On Some Rich Kidd Shit Vol. 1-6, an annual event in the local music scene that is entirely orchestrated under his creative vision, has featured nearly 100 artists and proven to be a showcase for some of the best talent coming from his hometown.
