Ainz & Fran Deeper - Midnight Walker (Dani Diaz Remix)

Ombra International: A Berlin-based home for the furthest, most cosmic excursions. A haven for post-punk purveyors, wave devotees and lovers of all things Italo and disco on a darker, beguiling side. Devotees like label boss Luca Venezia - AKA Curses – a man who’s made it his MO to invite kindred spirits from every corner of the disco loving globe to come out to play. And boy have they played… 
Since launching in 2016 acts from Spain to Australia, Columbia to Berlin have all played a roll on the label’s numbered V/A series. It’s a series that’s become synonymous with mystifying unclassifiable escapades that fuse and flex the most unsuspecting nuances of electronica, rock and all things in between. ‘Ombra INTL 011’ is certainly no exception as we’re introduced to more Ombra hombres whose locations that range from Slovenia (Vitorijoski) to Indonesia (Arvin Fajar) via Russia (Seven Knives), Mexico (Andrem) and Belgium (Naufragi). But their visions share much tighter coordinates. 
Each contributor firing shots from the most filmic of cannons, the whole EP is a feast for the senses from Fajar’s guitar-twanging ghetto-graveyard creeping opener ‘In The Shadows’ right through to the chrome struts and wandering synth strikes of Naufragi’s 23rdcentury jazz finale ‘Virunga’. In between we have the stern Russian new romantic warnings of old label mate Seven Knives in the form of ‘Monoland’, the subversive Latin twangs and tense undulations of Vitorijoski’s ‘And They Leave Me’ and the dubby broken drums and body-funk locomotion of Andrem’s fittingly-titled ‘The Souls Always For Each Other’. They certainly do on Ombra… It’s not called International for nothing.

The review on this track could be simply: Controlla did it again. Period! But let’s stick with the longer version, shall we?

Double Meaning is “the situation in which a word or phrase has two different, often opposite, meanings”. In this case, it represents the partnership between Los Angeles-based Suli Velasco and San Luis-based KW'ITOL, two Mexican artists who met through a mutual friend in Guadalajara and even living so far from each other decided to join forces and create music together: “Aceite De Mi Trailer” is the result of their first collaboration, a track “mostly done as a tongue-in-cheek experiment with a bunch of odd ideas incorporated and mixed with Acid House elements”, according to the boys themselves. 

And they kept going: “The vocals on the track are based on us really just bullshitting around, imagining scenarios that have a double meaning, as our name suggests, about a truck driver and his love for girls, music and drugs”. After listening to the outcome of Suli & KW'ITOL’s imagination, El loco Kitschy Kitsch jumped on the truck, killed the driver and hit the gas! His interpretation of an already powerful original certainly is going to cause damages to the dance floor: The throbbing bassline, the enhanced acid layer and the additional FXs are meant to make you dance… a lot! 

Double Meaning’s Teotihuacan EP brings six tracks divided into three originals and three remixes provided by Alvee and label bosses themselves Ali X X Ximena (SXDNS070) with Pvlomo (SXDNS098), besides the version we took to premiere ingeniously made by our Kitschy Kitsch (SXDNS078).

Después de unas series de excelentes lanzamientos en Duro, Roam Recordings y Night Noise, Roliva nos trae su sonido psicodélico a Emerald & Doreen Records. 

El músico se incorpora a nuestro sello con su single "Credus" un track energético, pero a la vez lleno de nostalgia, que hace alusión a esas situaciones atemporales, que deseamos hubieran sucedido en el pasado pero que hoy, por extrañas razones están sucediendo. Así es como lo indica el joven productor.

Uniéndose al EP, lo acompañan remixes del Italiano Tulioxi, quién mantiene la esencia disco y realiza una versión más groovy del track. Technobeton, quién resalta lo industrial. También Ton Globiter quién realiza una versión más melódica y por último Gegen Mann quién explota el lado EBM.

Inspired by the ongoing stress and paranoia of living in Mexico City, the producer Undefined Pattern delivers to Richmerch 3 fresh and new original choons for the most exigent dance floors.

Starting with a dark and mysterious cut with some low-pitched voices, "El Alienado" tease you up for what comes next.

"El Anejado" is one of those tunes that evolves gradually taking you to higher levels of excitement.

"CONVERGENXIA" it's just six minutes of violent stabbing beats.

We invited Fabrizio Mammarella to close the EP with his "Pepsi Center Mix" of "El Anejado" switching it into a floorfiller that sounds like a clash of Italo Disco and French Electro Synth-Wave.

All tracks have been previously tested on various raves, clubs and dance floors before being released.

From France to Mexico via China: Motel77 take us to rowdy roadside destinations we didn’t even know existed on their Duro EP debut: ‘Savage’

The title track gets the engine running. Buckle up and prepare for a sweltering ride as the Shanghai-based French duo follow up their past successes on La Dame Noir with four moody, heavy missions. It’s hot, it’s sweaty, it’s loaded it’s with big sweeping guitar blasts… It’s the sound of two men in full control of their machines. And it’s backed by three more dark disco treats…

‘Three On The Floor’ raises its third leg and slams it on the table in two very distinct ways: the original slugs into hypnotic existence, layer by trippy percussive layer, while Sascha Funke ups the tempo with his creepier, more technoid flavoured twist.

Finally we arrive at our destination; the epic waves of ‘It Is All Over’. At first it shimmers like a mirage, then slowly the ground opens out beneath and it sucks you up like a sinkhole. You think it’s all over?
