Toman returns to No Art to deliver his five-track ‘Am I Conscious’ EP.
Continuing his rise as one of The Netherlands’ most talked about talents, Amsterdam-based DJ/producer Toman continues to showcase exactly why he’s an artist in such high demand. Serving as an A&R for No Art, summer welcomed the launch of the label’s vinyl-focused sub-imprint No Art Red with the collaborative ‘Due’ EP alongside label bosses ANOTR. Up next, early November marks his solo return to the imprint as he follows up material via Cuttin’ Headz and Moscow with five fresh offerings across ‘Am I Conscious’.
Title cut ‘Am I Conscious’ opens proceedings as freaky melodies meet entrancing vocals and wonky drums, while ‘Sabelo’ delivers powerful rolling percussion, spiralling background sonics and further hypnotic vocal work to shape up a peak time terrace anthem. Next up, ’Everywhere I Go I’m Haunted By Jazz’ showcases an upfront and lively track guided by a chunky core groove and infectious samples, before the deep chords of ‘Automatic’ enter the fray to offer up a funky slice of rich house music. To close, ‘Contigo’ takes things firmly into the after hours, inviting listeners on a journey through hazy tones, warping electronics and sparse atmospheres.

Premiere: Toman - Everywhere I Go I'm Haunted By Jazz [NO ART]

Miami bad-boy Jesse Perez returns to the I’m A House Gangster stable bringing with him a box of dynamite cuts to annihilate the clubs this season!

‘This Ain’t No Rave EP’ comes armed with 3 Bass charged bullets; the title track is a straight up slab of Bass House, backed with pressure beats, toying with a Rob Base & DJ EZ Rock classic ‘It Takes Two’ sample to effect. 
‘Too Many DJs, Not Enough Hoes’ is a sassy Hip-House tinged groover, which tips it’s hat to the old skool, and is a prime example of Jesse’s cut up sample wizardry. 
Finishing off the package is the incessant groove of ‘Learn How To Spin’ -  lyrically giving a small dig to the laptop autopilot DJ generation, this bomb builds with Latin tinged percussive beats that give way to a bouncing bass lick.

“These are dandelion tracks. All 3 tracks are in my ‘If the crowd isn't dancing’ folder” - Jesse Perez  Legend tells it that Jesse Perez was born in a rundown motel in Little Havana (a small Latin neighbourhood in Miami) just minutes after being conceived. Son to a local pimp (who is oddly 10 years older than Jesse), Jesse was exposed to the art of Slangin' D as a young boy. His mother, who at that time was a stage dancer for a popular local rap group called the "2 Live Crew", would work many shows for these artists and would sneak Jesse in as often as she could. 

Jesse has been producing and remixing since 2005 and has released on Hot Creations, Off Recordings, Exploited and his own label Mr Nice Guy Recordings, among others. He has remixed the likes of Nick Monaco, Ellen Allien, Pleasurekraft and many more. Jesse made his debut on I’m A House Gangster in 2014 with his ‘That’s Real Muthafuckin Talk’ EP featuring remixes from Paolo Rocco & Jay and label boss DJ Sneak.

And with it our Mental Picks go on again three different artists , three different live experiences , three different ways to understand music and no limits on it . For this release we get back our not that newbies Mobile Soul System the Russian duo sended to us this track and we couldnt say no , minimalistic Deep sound with amazing groove and dark vocals as shown in past tracks in our label. For the second cut one artists that we really like Dave James released in labes like Little Helpers , Naked Lunch among others and having other alias where he does his best in Techno that we also love. His analogic roots can be felt in this track and also the the british underground close to those techno variants that will make you enjoy from the start till the end. For last track a new collaboration by label boss Eddy Romero together with the label boss of Lonely Owl Records Mikel Gil they met in a showcase of the last label and they decided to do this mentalistic experiment and thats the result.

This essential three-track offering follows the world-renowned Grammy-and-Brit-Award-nominated duo’s ‘Little Black Book’ album release on Moda Black last year plus their more recent ‘FabricLive87’ mix compilation.    

The EP’s title track ‘House With Me’ commences the release, taking the listener on a funk-driven dirty House groove full of sassy Saxophone riffs, crunchy bit-reduced drum samples and a recurring spoken word vocal stating “Eastside Boom, Westside Boom, Northside Boom, Southside Boom” from Chicago’s Ghetto House legend Parris Mitchell. 
 
Next up is ‘U Can’, which takes us on more of a late 80s/early 90s Balearic House vibe, encompassing a distinctive soulful male vocal, warm pad sounds and rock-solid drum programming reminiscent of tracks like Joe Smooth’s House classic ‘Promised Land’ and Raze’s ‘Break For Love’. 

Last but not least, Snatch’s label boss Riva Starr step up to deliver and tasty-and-cheeky edit of one of Groove Armada’s most successful tracks to date, ‘Superstylin’. Riva’s fresh-sounding rework features most of the original’s main ingredients but tweaked and manipulated to fit around a stomping new House groove.

This is our biggest EP to date. We welcome none other than house music royalty Todd Terry to the label on this monster EP Head Honcho Simon Shaw gives us Cut My Hair. Why it's called that? Nobody knows, answers on a postcard please! 

Let's get into it then. 

Cut my hair is a real chugger! Large, weighty kicks give you an immediate idea where this is heading. There's organ kits, bluesy vocals and a big pulsing b-line to keep you movin'! 

We have one of our newest additions to the Sense Traxx camp, PEZNT. Straight in with the energy, this is upfront, floor focussed house music ladies and gentlemen! An absolute corker, killer bassline and stabs. Late night or early morning, whatever! 

House royalty Todd Terry has given this a glorious real OG housey flavour! Chopping those vocals with precision, giving us a low slung groove and nice throbbing bassline action, you in? Course you are. 

Last but by no means least we welcome distinguished label mate Kalyde back to Sense Traxx with his take on Cut My Hair. Punchy snares & claps AND a 303 you say? Electronic gorgeousness this. Must have for those lively warm ups and late 12 o'clock grooves!

Something special was developing in London's rave culture during the mid-2000's. A generation of like-minded artists and promoters with similar tastes in house and techno formed a genuine scene with a spirit and alchemy that has propelled its instigators far and wide. Rich NxT was enjoying being part of the movement, frequenting the many seminal East London venues we still talk about now.

Born in 2008, FUSE London carved its own unique position on the scene with its infamous Sunday free parties at 93 Feet East. As one of FUSE’s original residents, Rich played a major part in the brand’s evolution, helping take it from a free afterparty to one of the most respected event brands and labels on the planet. As a core FUSE artist, Rich has delivered 11 classy EPs on the FUSE London imprint. In October 2020, the debut album ‘Know the Score’ lands, his crowning career achievement. The 10-tracker spans the full breadth of the house genre and is the culmination of 20 years production work, taking influence from his varied involvement in music as a DJ, raver, drummer in bands and pirate radio devotee, devouring the sounds on Weekend Rush FM.

Elsewhere the DJ/producer draws on his strongly identifiable sound to run two vinyl imprints,NxT Records and What NxT. The tastemaker favourites draw influence from techno and minimal house, while never forgetting Rich’s raver roots taking influence from jungle and hardcore.

His DJ highlights include appearances at most of the scene’s major venues such as DC-10 (Paradise, Cuttin’ Headz) Watergate, Space, Amnesia, Robert Johnson, Warehouse Elemenstratt, Mint Warehouse, Tobacco Docks, Studio 338 and The Warehouse Project. At the same time, he is versatile enough to command the decks over long sets at intimate venues such as Hopetosse, Ibiza Underground, Bret and CDV. Festival appearances in 2019 included Cocoon in The Park, BPM and Mint Festival.

Releasing regularly, he’s gained the support of many other DJs including The Martinez Brothers, Tini, Marco Carola, Enzo Siragusa, Jamie Jones, WAFF,Steve Lawler, MEAT, Matthias Kaden, East End Dubs, Alan Fitzpatrick, Eats Everything and Darius Syrossian.

Prior to his ‘Know The Score’ album dropping, Rich enjoyed an industrious first half of 2020, including a huge EP on WYLD, collaborative work with Darius Syrossian (Moxy Muzik) and remixes for INFUSE, Moan and SASH.

Meanwhile he continues to demonstrate a very keen ear with What NxT delivering the goods for new and established artists alike. Rich also continues his radio residency on Rinse FM with Fuse London and launches a new weekly show on Ibiza Global Radio
