Based in Richmond, Virginia, Qing Richy is a hip hop artist and producer with a one of a kind sound, fashion sense, and gender expression. A master wordsmith, Richy often crafts narratives exploring the peculiar realities of being black and genderfluid in America, along with hot takes on love and religion. From crate digging to live instrument playing to programmed drums, their musical versatility is undeniably illustrated whether streaming or performing live.
Qing Richy self released their debut album Strange Land in 2021, featuring eleven tracks of hip hop instrumentals with a couple of featured verses from the maestro. In 2022, they released River City, thirteen instrumentals paying homage to RVA.
