Just a savannah man, that never quitted on his dreams.  GP aka Insanity (real name garrett pugh jr.) is a 35 year old producer/artist from savannah ga.  GP is known for making what he calls hood tapes (a mixtape with no dj hosting, mixed with karaoke/instrumental rapping).  Garrett started freestyling at the age of eleven, started writing his own songs at the age of fifteen, started producing at seventeen & started recording his own material in his own studio at the age of twenty six.  He has a total of 4 albums & 8 hood tapes in his city, which all of them we're never released at the time, due to situational circumstances.  Due to being in and out of groups, false promises from former managers and no responses from record labels, he'd decided to lock his stuff in his vault (aka the straight jacket).  Due to a contract with a manager, he waited til the day of the contract was over with, to do his own music.  In 2010, He'd started his "do your own" campaigne with his debut hood tape "letting go".  A cd he'd released after the death of his friend, an inspiring rapper name herold "t" boney aka crush.  After that cd, that's exactly what he'd did by releasing three more hood tapes within' the next 3 months.  His next tape "the blue room" was released two weeks after letting go.  2011 mid january, he'd released "under the blu light" a mixture between letting go and the blue room.  In march, he'd released "letting go 2".  Around the time of starting his first completed album, he'd ran into a stand still by having no job and little income, so he went full time in the streets and around janurary 2012, he'd got in trouble with the law.  A few months after that, he'd went to court and was sentenced to 2 1/2 years probation.  So he'd left his past behind and went back to making music.  Within' the next few months, he'd released his long awaited cd "9-1-Deuce".  A cd, that he'd dedicated to his city.  After the release of his single "straight like dat", more cds followed.  2012 ended with the release of "besides still waters", his second project.  2013 he'd released his third project "smokin' mirrors", then he'd went back to doing hood tapes.  Within' that following year, he released "blu moon" and the classic "street fighter".  At the end of the year, he'd released another classic "mo' than dis rap". A slogan that he's been using for years.  While working on another hood tape in january 2014, GP was arrested for probation violation.  He'd served three months for it.  In april 2014, he was released and he'd started where he left off.  2015, he'd dropped the hood tape "real life anime", which he claims is the elevation of hood tapes.  around that time, his other childhood friend (t boney's cousin)michael aka "mikey" james was killed.  So taken back from everything that happened to him, he took a break.  2016, he'd released "samurai spirits".  The newest and latest hood tape project up to date.  He currently and consistantly performs at a club since 2003, name velvet elvis aka the jinx.  For more info on the artist gp, stay tuned.  More music will be out soon.
