Adding his playful spin to the gridlocked tech continuum, Dold - real name Patrik Eriksson - embarks us on a bumpy, unrelenting ride across jagged IDM scapes and electroid reliefs only he knows the path to. Enter a trip bound to have you headbanging to a never-ending assault of heavily trippin’ four-to-the-floor, arpeggiated zen-like cascades of sound and other nimble junglistic pleasures, perfect to keep everyone guessing what the next bar holds. Salty DJ is one to watch. He’s a Berlin-based vinyl head and resident of the Shockwerk collective whose parties have been causing a stir in the southern half of Germany. This new kid on the block is wasting no time getting out there, with notable performances at Weltspiele, Tresor, Mala Junta, and Kulør’s label night at Berghain. His sound is indicative of a particularly defined social current rippling through music at the moment, a re-remembering and reconfiguration of the experience of youth in the 90s and parallels found on dancefloors today: soundtracked by plenty of the decade’s finest techno and trance-leaning frequencies, and plenty of shades there-between. His slamming beats barely leave enough space for you to catch a breath. Skittish and quick as a flash, there’s little doubt Salty DJ’s wax wizardry holds great promise. Bassiani Podcast 198 is powerful stuff, an hour-long dispatch from this fresh and compelling prodigy.

Formerly known as Inhalt Der Nacht, Berlin’s Christoph Faust has been tightening and repurposing his craft around the crucial idea that techno should revive that all-engulfing primitive pulse that powered its initial stages and bring the dance floors back to that deep, entrancing state of mind that makes the crowd mutate into one boiling mass of energy whose course nothing can alter. I chose to reflect this mix of hypnotic and deep with a little bit of break in my set because the mix affects me emotionally and I always find the mix of hypnotic and off beat / break sound at slower tempos exciting and deep. The way I reflect my emotions is directly linked to the choices I make in my set. The effect of my set reflecting a deep and emotional journey and seeing the effect it will create is one of the main things that connects me to this set.

"I’ve been really enjoying playing ‘Bloom’ from up and coming Berlin producer Symbolism on PTHM recently. It’s an immersive and rolling techno track with a dark and dub’y atmosphere. You hear a bit of the dub sound coming back at the moment which is nice, but this is the way I like it over the more chord driven dryer sounding stuff. It’s quite versatile, intriguing and very adaptable for DJ’ing with."

While Berlin's nightlife scene has a reputation for attracting a revolving door of people, those who are here to stay have had to witness the same painful cycle repeat itself over and over again: the best parties get too big, too fast and––due to forced venue changes and shifting crowds––lose their spark too soon.

RIDE is the lovechild of a group of friends whose bonds were forged on the dance floors of the parties, clubs and safe spaces that have been lost over time. Motivated by a shared need for a breath of fresh air in the scene, RIDE's founders pooled their talents, wisdom and experiences together to create an event that fills the gaps left by bygone institutions and that is, above all, a party they themselves would love to attend. 

After the prolonged uncertainty and stress of the pandemic years, RIDE burst onto the scene with the colorful and joyful energy of 90s club nights in New York and London. These frisky family affairs are soundtracked by both up-and-coming and well-established DJs who prioritize pleasure while serving their own unique flavor of groove, penetrating dancers' ears and bodies with everything from techno and ghetto to powerhouse and trance. 

From the moment it opened its doors, RIDE has proven itself to be a liberating sanctuary for the queer community. Each party is an enthusiastic invitation for guests of all colors, shapes, sizes and identities to be themselves, express themselves and explore their desires in an inclusive space shaped by authenticity and mutual respect. Due to the rarity of its warm and inviting environment, RIDE is a place where the silver lining in music is always audible and where everyone is made to feel like family.
