When the Holy Spirit teams up with hip hop, it makes for a dynamic collaboration of Gospel Rap; a process RIFICA refers to as “the Holy Spirit downloading the lyrics to his brain.” This partnership in music attracts all ages of believers and non-believers the same. RIFICA showcases this spiritual encounter in each of his albums: Motivation, The Standard, and The Death of Me mix tape. His unique style of artistry is both versatile and nonconforming. Known for his interactive “line dance” tracks, RIFICA creates a high energy atmosphere that would make anyone get up and join. Gospel Step, Gospel Wobble, and The Righteous Shuffle, are major hits in the Christian community and embrace the concept that you can have fun in the Lord, a great time in church, and that it’s exciting to be in Christ. These words RIFICA tells his supporters as he travels throughout Texas and other shows spanning across Denver, CO, Baton Rouge, LA, St. Croix VI, and Nassau Bahamas.

Prior to recording his first album, RIFICA would feature on various artist songs, with his first being with Mic D and Disciples of Prophecy on the DOP 2k3 album. Later, the successful relationship would serve as a positive force of change. After hearing from Mic D, and the industry response to his original name, MastaBalla, it was suggested he choose a different alias. In that moment God brought the name to remembrance and it’s meaning to the acronym RIFICA (Righteous In Faith InCrease Abundantly). This modification would eventually develop RIFICA’s brand and shape him into the artist he is today. Since then Rif, is proud to have worked with artists such as Educator, Immortal, Poetic Prophet, and Mike Dixon.

When you hear the sounds in his albums, everything from the beat to the lyrics, expect to hear real life applications. From discussing his childhood life of joint custody while growing up on both sides of the track in Houston, TX; RIFICA’s parents divorced when he was 5 years old. Consequently, he experienced a somewhat unbalanced childhood…..Or it could be described as the perfect balance for what God planned to do in and through his life. These pastimes from his childhood including recaptures of “the college life” in The Motivation album are like stages of fragmented pieces of clay molded by the hands of the Potter.

When looking back RIFICA knows he has come a long way from his very first demo, which involved a recording of himself rapping to a homemade beat made with a karaoke machine, tuba, keyboard, and drum machine recorded on a cassette tape. He makes sure his supporters know that it wasn’t his own doing as he always says “All Glory Go to God None to me”. RIFICA is currently working on his second mixtape Death of Me Volume II which is a sequel to the first Death of Me mix tape. His supporters should expect to receive some fresh artistry in Volume II including a new hot collaboration featuring BSloan. RIFICA is truly a young entertainer after God’s own heart, striving to be the standard of righteousness to a generation without a God Consciousness. .

Jerome Covington is a purpose-driven creative, educator, and entrepreneur whose work spans poetry, music, acting, ministry, and casting. Born in Hawaii and raised in San Diego, CA, Jerome grew up in a military family that exposed him to global cultures and diverse communities—experiences that deeply shaped his ability to minister and connect across boundaries.

In 2009, after a profound spiritual moment where he heard the Lord say, “I gave you a gift… use it,” Jerome began to fully embrace his calling as a scribe and spoken word artist. Since then, he has released several musical and poetic projects, including Why JSpeaks (2016), A Different Dynamic EP, “God Is Greater” (2017), and “Long Way” featuring Urgency (2019). His most recent project, You Think You Know Me?, showcases his signature style of faith-fueled, socially conscious expression.

Jerome’s passion for storytelling extends beyond the mic to the stage and screen. He has performed in a range of powerful productions, such as The Calling of a Call Girl, Judgement Day, Da Dealership, and Love Shouldn't Hurt. His creative work often centers on redemptive themes, healing, justice, and the transformative power of faith.

In 2025, Jerome expanded his impact by launching Covington Select Casting Agency, a professional service that connects filmmakers and media creators with diverse, talented performers. The agency specializes in casting for film, television, commercials, music videos, and new media. Its mission is clear:
"To elevate storytelling by offering inclusive, professional, and efficient casting solutions that are purpose-driven, inspiring, and rooted in a commitment to meaningful representation."

Covington Select seeks to redefine industry norms by reflecting the beauty and breadth of real-world identities—ensuring that the stories told on screen mirror the communities who watch them. With a streamlined, collaborative approach, Jerome bridges the gap between visionary creators and voices often left out of the casting conversation.

Outside of his artistic and business ventures, Jerome remains deeply committed to service. He volunteers with Speak Out Inc., a nonprofit addressing domestic violence in Houston-area communities, and uses his platform to advocate for healing and awareness through art and education.

At the heart of everything Jerome does is a desire to glorify God and edify others. Whether he’s writing a verse, curating a cast, or performing on stage, his ultimate goal is to open eyes, stir hearts, and lead people closer to their divine purpose. He lives by the belief that storytelling isn’t just entertainment—it’s a calling.

Sone drops his new album 'Dirty Laundry' on April 4th, resurrection day.  It is a day of great meaning to him as a born again Christian.  The album opens a new chapter in his career and features more outside artists than any other album to date.  Sone told us that every feature on the album was ordained by God for reasons that were only revealed after the songs were already written and recorded.  He digs up some of the past with a sequel to 'Just Breathe' from his first album.  As he airs out his dirty laundry, could this be a hint of more sequels to come? 


     'Beautiful' is a song from the album that Sone impressed he holds most dear.  The hook was written a cappella by his daughter, Ahlia, for one of her friends in her third grade class.  Her friend was being constantly bullied by the other classmates and she wanted to make her feel special and beautiful exactly how God made her by writing a song just for her.  Psych Owens, the other featuring artist, wrote his verse to a drum pattern alone in which Sone built the beat around. His verse speaks of falling away from Christ only to be redeemed and washed new. Little did he know Sone's plans for 'Dirty Laundry' at the time.  Sone also worked landscaping with Psych Owens' mom who played a lead role in Sone's coming to Christ.  Relentless, she sat and prayed with and for him everyday for the year that they worked together and he told us he cannot express how grateful he is for that. 


     'Silence' is a track that Sone also highlighted from the album.  He spoke to the subject of the inner thoughts we hold inside that are only shared with God. Reflecting that overthinking can be deadly to the soul and healed only through prayer.  Sometimes we just need to take and step back in silence and rest with the Holy Spirit.


     'I Will Be Your Diary' is Sone's promise to God.  As God has been faithful time and time again in the transformation of his life, he promises in turn to be faithful to what God asks of him; To use his given gifts as an instrument and example for others.  Through his walk God has shown him how to let others into his heart again and how to have compassion for their pain where he didnt before so they may be transformed and made clean as well.  Sone will take this album on tour with his prison and juvenile detention ministry as well as his street ministry.  


     Sone has commenced on a careful mission to seek only purpose and understanding rather than recognition or validation.  He opens and dumps his bag of dirty laundry at the foot of the cross and challenges his listeners to do the same.  Telling a story of filthy pieces that were once broken, gathered and reforged into something better than before and the truth about how Jesus can make you clean and new again.  Zachariah 3:3 - Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and was standing before the Angel. Then He answered and spoke to those who stood before Him, saying, “Take away the filthy garments from him.” And to him He said, “See, I have removed your iniquity from you, and I will clothe you with rich robes.”  



DJ I Rock Jesus has been the recipient of many honors and awards on Gospel entertainment shows over the years to include The Holy Hip Hop and Kingdom Choice Awards. Most recently, he received the Legacy Award at the 2017 Kingdom Choice Awards.
