This past weekend was full of spectacular atmosphere, courtesy of an uncommonly powerful aurora borealis display, so it’s only fitting that this week’s episode of Moonlight Mixtapes contains some celestial atmosphere of its own—straight from the studio of Ilias Katelanos. 

An organic house mastermind, he’s built a resume from unforgettable tracks on standout labels such as Where the Shadow Ends, Telematique, Melody of the Soul, Flug Lab, and Songuara. This week, he’s centered both moonlight and melody as he takes us through an hour-long celebration of high vibration.

Katelanos begins the mix on an elevated note, layering shades of funk and soulful vocal samples atop a solidly organic beat that goes the distance. Watch out for a decidedly deeper turn at the halfway point, where the gritty bottom end and traces of hypnotic vocals recall those late night witching hours. Chris Domingo, a.k.a Domingo +, and Perry Domingo, known as Loveclub, are two brothers who embarked on their musical journey in the heart of Orlando, Florida, in 1983. Little did they know that this initial spark would evolve into a blazing inferno of creativity, propelling them to the summits of the electronic music scene. Chris discovered the magic of two turntables, setting him on a trajectory toward becoming a recording engineer by the age of 13 in 1989, while Perry left the scene years ago to raise a family. As drum machines became the heartbeat of the studio, fate intervened in the form of a fortuitous encounter with Victor Simonelli. This pivotal moment led Chris to New York City, where he was mentored by legends like Frankie Bones, Tony Humphries, and Bobby Condors, imprinting upon him an insatiable love for the 4/4 rhythm that would never wane.

With no specific genre to confine them, their music traverses everything from Deep House to Techno with equal finesse. Drawing inspiration from a myriad of influences, including Audiotones, Kruder and Dorfmeister, and even the eclectic sounds of Pet Shop Boys, Domingo + Loveclub craft a sound that is both timeless and transcendent. With several top releases on esteemed labels such as The Purr, Amulanga, Melody Of the Soul, Tale & Tone, Songuara, and Stellar Fountain, Domingo + Loveclub have firmly established themselves as a force to be reckoned with. Their upcoming EP on Melody Of The Soul is in the pipeline, and they have a plethora of good music set for release this year.

➳ Vinícius Souza Aka RIGOONI is a brazilian producer/dj. Coming from a family of music lovers, it was just a matter of time for the young man to find his purpose. It was through his parents, listening to vinyl records since childhood, where he obtained his greatest musical influences. Self-taught, Vinícius began his productions at the age of 11 allowing himself to explore different genres of house music, building a melodic, organic, atmospheric and exciting sound to bring many positive vibes. 

In 2019 RIGOONI signed with the iconic label Balance Music for Nick Warren's album with the song "Dreamed Numbers" which reached # 3 of the label's best-selling tracks, in addition to having the honor of launching the track in vinyl format, alongside great names such as: Nick Warren, Nicolas Rada, Hernan Cattaneo, Audio Junkies, Armen Miran, Kamilo Sanclemente, Six, Black 8 and Eli Nissan.

In 2020 RIGOONI reached the EP "Serenade" on the great The Soundgarden with 4 tracks. August Tears, Serenade, Eudaimonia and A Blue Rose For Daniele, a track that was charted by Sébastien Léger on his Beatport "Secret EP" Chart. In the middle of the year, RIGOONI does a remix for Namatjira on Manual Records that was played by Guy J on his Echos Show, days later a great EP was released by Higher States, with a massive remix by Alex O'Rion on "When Midnight Comes".  For closing the year in the best way, A Horse and a Blowing Horn was selected to enter Nick Warren's The Soundgarden Winter Collection.

In 2021 RIGOONI continues to rise on the scene and scores a major release in Anjunadeep with full support from Tony Mcguinness on Anjunadeep Explorations 17. Throughout the year he made his debut on Particles, Good News Records, LAIKA Sounds, Just Movement, Plaisirs Sonores Records, Belong To Label and The Purr. At the end of the year, RIGOONI started releasing their own sample packs on their bandcamp.

In 2022, RIGOONI kicks off with a remix for the duo Madraas on Get Physical's Kindisch label, earning a premiere on the renowned When We Dip channel.
