My Naviar Haiku interpretations

I wonder occasionally if using various effects on instruments and the digital processing of sound ion general is not some kind of mind-altering substance or like a drug. So I am toying with the idea of calling the album I recorded rather spontaneously on May 18th, "Under the Influence of Latency".  The fact of the moment was some issue with my soundcard. Rather than pull out the tool-kit, I decided to let the latency take me where it listeth. Been listening to the resultant 7 tracks thinking in might be a go for a full album. Time will tell.

This story follows a group of young childhood friends as they grow into adulthood and navigate through the experiences that must come with that; the wistful memories of their youth, the death of childhood, love and loss and growing older. However, they eventually discover they are in an illusionary world controlled by an omniscient super intelligence directly affecting every decision or even thought one may have, keeping them locked in an endless loop. Ultimately the friends find their true path and break free after a perpetual night of no reprieve.

This concept album sort of acts as a spiritual successor to my Demo EP "Welcome to the Neighborhood", as some similar musical themes appear in both, mostly used to foreshadow this one.

I started this song just a few weeks before a dear friend was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in late 2019.  I wrote this for her to sing but I never finished the song. We worked on the lyrics together.  I'm still working on this song,  and I hope one day, I will find someone to sing this beautiful lullaby in Gloria's memory.
