Up next on Unrilis a collaboration debut EP from Devid Dega and Nico Cabeza under the name of ‘’Darkness’’ which features vocals from Millie Forsberg.

Devid Dega is an Italian Producer & DJ since two decades now, he has a very rich catalog of music released on the likes of Say What?, Tronic, Phobiq, Agile Recordings and  Loose Records to name few.

On the other hands, Nico Cabeza is an Italian Artist as well, based in Berlin and same as Devid, he has shown his love for music since a very young age. Nico has also a very rich & versatile Catalog of records released on the likes of Legend, Gain Records, HE-ART and Renesanz among others.

Both artists have a powerful & driving style of techno which get you move your body in the dancefloor and this is easy to spot on the release they have delivered through the power of sounds of Darkness EP.

Nico Cabeza ‘’ I remember we started to work on this longtime ago, when the track was ongoing I was in Berlin with Millie and I asked her to make some vocals on a track. She was excited to do and after some minutes in a bar, I took a paper and wrote down the lyrics, days after we recorded the vocals and sent them over to Devid in Italy’’.

Nico Cabeza ‘’me and Devid met years ago and we were always looking for doing something together! So this collaboration was something natural’’.

While the original album ”Quiet Distortion“ still resonates on dance floors around the world, we are more than happy to present to you a wonderful and versatile remix package of select album tracks. We believe the lineup of remixers really speaks for itself:
First up we have Nicole Moudaber, who has established a notable presence amongst the techno elite. Nicole transforms the title track of the album to an epic 10 minute journey that - dropped at the right moment of the night – will definitely let the magic happen.
Next up we have Wigbert, hailing from Offenbach in Germany and releasing on Dubfire´s Sci+Tec and Carlo Lio´s Rawthentic, who also reworked the title track. Wigbert builds his version around the original strings to create a dense remix that explodes in a monstrous breakdown!
Third on the lineup we have Jewel Kid from Malta, who just recently released a stunning EP on our little label and who delivers the bigroom mix on this package, twisting the original melodies to an apocalyptic dance floor destroyer.
Soma artists Gemini Voice Archive have been a mainstay in Gregor´s DJ-sets for the past year with their distinctive and unique hypnotic sound - another perfect match for this remix package - they picked ”Safehouse“ and boy, did they deliver!
Last but not least is Jonas Thor Gudmundsson aka Ruxpin from Iceland - Gregor has been a fan of his music for the past 15 years and we´re very happy to have him close the EP with his stunning vocal rework of the album´s final track ”Give It All Away“.

Welcome to our first artists from Tokyo: Drunken Kong. With their great releases on Christian Smith's label Tronic, D. Singh and DJ Kyoko had a regular place on Monika Kruse's stick and she was even happier when she received this demo EP from the duo. The big hype about this release began when Monika dropped the title track 'Chanted' in her boiler room set last summer and it became bigger and bigger since then.

"Who should do the first release of 2020?“ the JAW team wondered. @Jannowitz  Records main honcho BOHO and Jaw Dropping Records label head Rachel Raw racked their brains over this question until they finally thought:" Why not do it ourselves?" And this is exactly what both did: On Jannowitz Records, BOHO teamed up with his good mate Reza Golroo to produce some classic Jannowitz Records tracks - you know, the good stuff that made you fall in love with the label. 

After their brilliant debut on Spanish uber-label Bully Beatz it felt like the right way to go. "Medusa“ is the name of the EP, but before we talk you through the tracks, we want to point out the fantastic cover artwork by Italian tattoo artist Mirco Campioni. He did a great job on this super trippy medusa head. 

You'll find two original bangers on the EP. "Medusa“ is more stripped down, raw, progressive and minimal techno, one of the sounds that Jannowitz Records became famous for. The second track "Mad Max“ feels groovier with more focus on the percussive elements – you'll see the Reza Golroo influence there. But the evil vocal gives BOHO's participation away. Three of our favorite artists were kind enough to provide remixes of "Mad Max“ for the EP. all three of which are true bombs. Colombian DJ and producer Juan DDD – in real life he goes by Juan Diego Mendoza Patiño – went deeper with the bass and put in some spacey elements. Jannowitz Records artist Mycell who is a very dear friend of the label did what he does best: Full on power with slashing hi-hats and a very heavy kick. And then Italian super duo Mr. Bizz went so far that you probably won't recognize the original anymore. Their remix almost feels like a meditation: very hypnotic but not less energetic!

Premiere: BOHO & Reza Golroo "MEDUSA" - Jannowitz Records

‘Hypnosis’ was one of Drumcode’s most vital under-the-radar releases of 2019. Its creator, Veerus, returns to the mothership for another top-shelf offering.

The Italian’s career is a brilliant slow burner, releasing EPs sparingly over the course of his 14-year career. There’s a narrative quality too each track too, the artist reveling in a drama-laden call-and-response dynamic. All three cuts from his latest ‘System’ EP are made for big moments. The title track was created with Amsterdam’s holy rave cauldron the Gashouder in mind, and was completed by Veerus just a few days before ADE last year. Balancing on a knife’s edge between tension and euphoria, the track’s twisted synth lines sent an energy surge through the iconic venue. ‘Year’ is a deadly one-two combo of synapse-searing synths and sharp drums as jagged waves of sound throb with panoramic effect. It was a captivating highlight of Beyer’s set at Amnesia in Milan in February, the final session before the lockdown. ‘Pyramid’ was debuted at Beyer’s Cercle performance last September, sound tracking a blissful post-sunset moment at the Théâtre antique de Lugdunum in Lyon.

We got our last taste of the creative synergy that marks Luigi Madonna and Roberto Capuano’s friendship when the pair dropped ‘Limitless’ in 2017, a brilliant addition to A-Sides Vol.6. Prior to that Luigi hadn’t dropped a cut on DC since 2015’s hook-driven ‘Magic Land’, while Capuano stands as one of the label’s most infallible contributors, last year’s ‘The Walker’ EP was typically impressive. 

Crafted between two studios in a pre-COVID-19 world, the three-track conceptual EP opens with ‘Mad World’, as masterfully layered industrial hits and rides depict it’s narrative, while a pulsating melodic lead ensures heavy impact. ‘System Alert’ is inspired by the destructive effects of climate change and the track’s composition mirrors this malaise, as a pitch-bending synth elicits rhythmic chaos alongside Luigi and Roberto’s deft drum work. ‘Headquarter’ is steeped in drama and cinematic charm, backed by a distorted vocal sample, stormy oscillating synths and a sharp percussive backdrop.
