Having kick-started 2021 in emphatic fashion with POPOF’s huge four-track Skylighter EP just a few weeks ago, France’s most revered techno imprint, FORM Music, now unveils its second huge release of the year with the announcement of Stiv Hey’s hard-hitting Flash EP. 

Known for his unique blend of mind-bending techno and dark, driving soundscapes, Stiv Hey’s FORM Music debut follows a plethora of releases on some of the biggest labels in techno over the past few years, including Octopus Recordings, Sci+Tec, Tronic, Set About, Prospect Records, Respekt Recordings and Unrilis.

Inaugurating the three-part package with the juggernaut title track Flash, the hotly-tipped Milanese talent combines deep chugging basslines, industrial synths and trippy vocal hooks to devastating effect, as he takes the listener on an intense peak-time journey through the striking six-minute opener.

Up next, Stiv offers an impressive follow up to the relentless opener with Outlaws. Exploring an altogether different timbre to Flash, acidic sub-bass and tension-laden synths provide the perfect backbone to the middle order as the Italian techno titan delivers another exquisite, multi-textured cut, perfect for those early-hours warehouse moments. 

Last but by no means least, and completing the release with the imposing final track Resonance, Stiv Hey continues to further demonstrate his incredibly diverse production credentials, as coursing bass and frenetic percussion combine in perfect accord to wrap a truly impressive label debut and another remarkable EP on POPOF’s FORM Music.

Regularly lauded by artists such as Richie Hawtin, Dubfire, Sven Vath and Marco Carola, Stiv Hey’s productions are characterized by an accurate mix of fixed basslines, refined dark groove and hypnotizing sounds. With critically acclaimed releases on some of the biggest and best techno labels over the course of his ten-year career, Stiv Hey’s raw passion and talent also extends to his stunning live performances, where he can be found gracing the DJ booths of countless internationally renowned venues including Fire London, TakeOff Milano, Ker Barcelona, Brancaleone Rome, Bass:ment Stockholm and Pacha Mumbai to name a few.

Mauro Somm is Set to make his debut called “Deep Control” on Unrilis with a brilliant release including two Remixes from Zafer Atabey and also Joyce Mercedes.

Based in Buenos Aires Argentina, Mauro Somm is a newcomer to the international techno scene as he started 2 years ago carving out a name for himself amongst some of the best selling Beatport artists within the driving and peak-time techno. Already released music on many respected labels such as Christian Smith’s Tronic, IAMT, InDeep'n'Dance to name few. 

His work has gained support from artists such as UMEK, Space 92, Christian Smith, Gallya, Joyce Mercedes, Sam Wolfe, Sisko Electrofanatik and many more.
In the exploration for new grooves and sounds, Deep Control is the first result of Mauro Somm's new journey into music where he delivers an amazing rhythm along with cool synthesizers that make us remember the previous techno sounds of the 2010 - 2017. His main inspiration is the groovy, Minimal & Bigroom techno style.

Mauro Somm delivered two fierce versions of the track “Deep Control” as the Raw Edit took the track to another level of aggression with polished modern synthesizer sounds followed by another two remixes with very unique expressions from Zafer Atabey and Joyce Mercedes as Once Again Intro closes the EP.

"Cosmic Talk“ is a piece of epic big room-techno, combining a rolling groove with a spacy arp-
hook.

„Dubdrive“ takes a similar route, but uses droning pads combined with synth stabs as main theme.
Finally, „Florescence“ is a great track for the later hours with its emotional melodic progression.

Continuing to drift further away from the astral confines of melodic house and techno, Elias focuses on more of a timeless narrative across the ‘Expansion’ mix. Played out over eight far-reaching minutes, it’s a clever co-ax of tough compact beats, subversive grooves and percussive rides which paves a deliberate path into the main break. Here, Erium’s craftsmanship reveals itself, as skittering rhythms and glitched-out vocal edits eventually give way to billowing synth mutations and woody accents, before a tasteful build smoothly shifts energy into a charged finale.
