aztechsounds is a Bristol-based musician exploring the intersection of ambient, drone, and electronic experimentation. His work blends rich textures, evolving soundscapes, and immersive atmospheres, creating music that feels both cinematic and deeply personal.

Originally cutting his teeth in school cover bands, Maik quickly gravitated toward electronic production, drawn to its immediacy and creative freedom. "Learning FL Studio was just way more fun than revising for GCSEs," he recalls. "I could have an idea, work on it for an evening, and suddenly it was ready to send to my mates or blast in the car to annoy my parents."

After making his live debut opening the Weapon of Choice stage at Brisfest 2011, he moved to Cardiff to study Music Technology—"basically three years of learning to make better tunes." Those years laid the foundation for a series of releases that span glitchy electronica, atmospheric synthwork, and deep ambient explorations.

Notable projects include effstarstarstar (2016), promoted with a live performance at The Attic Bar as part of the ChkOne event series, and debug7 (2024), an ambient record that marked a shift away from structured rhythms to a more textural, melodic focus. His 2015 EP Factory Noises was recently made available on streaming, featuring the dreamlike synth-driven City View, 2am and the dynamic, break-infused Soar.

His latest project, winterscapes (2025), is a four-track EP inspired by a series of winter landscape photos, blending drone and ambient elements to evoke frozen fields, misty mornings, and quiet, reflective spaces.

With an ever-evolving approach to sound, aztechsounds continues to push the boundaries of texture and atmosphere.
