This piece of work was originally recorded and released on the Joyful Noyz debut Coming Home collection. This song was the only worship type piece on this project and the only worship song typically performed during the live concerts. This song was brought back from the archives and the floppy discs to this current state. We are pleased to share this original work of art with you at this time.

Samantha Pelmore was selected to provide the vocal performance on 3 in 1. She is an in-demand vocalist and stage performer in the Kelowna area and delivered a poignant and heartfelt turn on this track.

The Backstory – Original Creation Process

Some years ago I experienced a time of personal struggle and spiritual loneliness. I had just been transferred by my employer from a city where I had spent most of my adult life to a town many miles away where I knew no one and at the same time a long term relationship I had believed would lead to marriage ended abruptly and acrimoniously. In going through some old boxes during the move, I came across a copy of the Footprints poem I had received many years before and while this poem used to encourage me and lift me up, now it just seemed to magnify feelings of isolation and despair. Not long after I was sitting with a guitar feeling sorry for myself and was just strumming it absentmindedly when I hit upon an open chord which just seemed to embrace me with a warm hug somehow. I continued to play and before long a chord progression began to take shape and my outlook began to brighten significantly. On reflection going back to the Footprints poem, I noted the ending where it says “my precious child I love you and will never leave you” and this became the inspiration for the lyrics that celebrate the relationship with God we were created for and that He desires for us.

The musical partnership between David Neher and Bill Shephard, that would become Joyful Noyz, was forged on the streets of Calgary and Edmonton in the early 90’s when both men were actively performing in youth centres, a local soup kitchen, and the Drop-In Centres in the inner cities. This collaboration would culminate in the release of the critically acclaimed album, Coming Home, in 1994.
