The Space Between Spaces 17 Ron Like Hell & Furtive - The Lot Radio 04.22.2021

De vuelta con ESPECTRO y esta vez traemos a Ron Like Hell. Acercándose a las sesiones de DJ como si fuera un ensamblaje, Ron Like Hell alinea el sonido con la emoción, enfocándose en las texturas para crear paisajes sonoros psicodélicos y espacios imaginativos que generen comodidad, sorprendiendo a los oyentes con la próxima transición ingeniosa e inesperada. Con más de 25 años a sus espaldas haciendo bailar a las personas en numerosas pistas del mundo y siendo un ávido comprador de discos, su papel en la escena es único e influyente. Como si fuera poco, es la mitad de WRECKED, una de las primeras fiestas queer norteamericanas que recientemente cumplió 10 años. 

Para esta sesión, quiso amplificar el trabajo creativo de productores que se identifican o apoyan el movimiento queer, inspirándose al mismo tiempo de diferentes sets que han sido anteriormente parte de la serie ESPECTRO. En resumen, mucho techno atrevido que termina en un sensual éxtasis de deep house.

For our next trip Down The Stairs, we return much closer to home (well, it is home for 1/2 of 2Sox) and are ridiculously delighted to bring you 1/2 of Inverness club night, mix series, digital label, online premiere maestros AND previous DTS guests - Hypnotic Groove! ( @hypno_groove )

Andrea ( @andrea-gilbert-mac )has been at the forefront of pushing a wide spectrum of electronic music from her Highland base for a number of years. Whether it's the fabled, sweaty, Inverness club nights, guest mixes on Rinse FM or pushing brand new music via premieres, Andrea's finger is always on the pulse.

So, it goes without saying, inviting her to go DTS has been on our radar for a fair while (aka too long).

For this trip, Andrea puts the pounding techno largely to one side and focuses on a more 2020/21 appropriate sound, with a delightful journey guaranteed to make you drift, relax and think of good times gone and ahead. With a fair nod to those aforementioned sweaty club nights towards the end of the mix. A much needed and enjoyable shift in direction for the DTS series in general too.

Nile has worked his way into New Orleans' DJ booths and hearts with his considered style and sweet demeanor, but we stay for his energetic and jacky  DJ sets. And this mixtape is no different. Touching on the classics with ravey pianos, RnB vocals, bassy numbers, and some break moments; it's safe to say he did the damn thing!

A New Orleans local by way of North Carolina, Nile is 1/2 of Secret Handshake, a duo with GAT Alumni Lady Lavender. We look forward to keeping an eye on what they have up their sleeve for the future.
