Moscow's RROOM MUSIC, one of the most consistent music brands in Russia, has just turned 6 years, affirming itself as one of the underground local's leaders when it comes to minimal house memorable parties. Over the years, the party has hosted renowned names such as VID, Vinyl Speed Adjust, Jay Bliss, Dragutesku, and Vincentiulian among others, spreading nothing but stripped back and mental microhouse vibes that are currently having a blast in Russia. To celebrate their birthday, master of the house and party co-founder Shyam went straight into the deepness of the minimal realm for a b2b session with Rabotnic, recorded at the infamous Gazgolder club, the home of many of their magical parties.

Next up in the Fast Forward Audio Series we present: Roma Ptashenko

From 2012 Roma has found his inspiration in the roots of rave culture — the 90s: Belgium with its accelerated-rough rhythms, melancholic trance and acid with its emotional edges, Britain and hard trance from Bonzai Records, as well as early releases on German Harthouse and rave revival from ТРИП label. 

His first DJ experiments took place accordingly: two old decks, CD disk records and endless mixing.

As a result, Roma's sets have become adjust compositions that belong to the dancefloor, but leave the space for real bangers. The big-bit track smoothly enters techno cage: Cari Lekebusch suddenly weaves with Nina Kravitz's sensual hits, and Prodigy remix drowns into progressive house of the duo Der Dritte Raum.

Over the past few years, his performances could be regularly seen both in the main Moscow techno-mecca Mutabor, and in St. Petersburg's Blank or the closed underground space of Raf25, in Tbilisi's Drama Bar and Yerevan's Poligraf.

Roma is a member of two iconic Moscow communities: the Volchok streetwear project, where he leads his series of podcasts and organizes parties. And the Popoff Kitchen music queer community. This year, the association was included in the list of the most influential projects that form youth culture.

We are incredibly happy to share this recording with you courtesy of one of our ultimate favorites, Claudio PRC. This 5h techno marathon was recorded at beautiful Masada in Milano at the Acquario party in April this year. 

This is what Claudio said about the Acquario collective and his relationship with them: “For me, Acquario has always been one of the most awaited and exciting dates of the year. For the next Far Blue concept, we have the second live set that has been carefully crafted by Project Indigo's Pango. Inspired by an unclear horizon, with the shades of the blue sky and sea blending, it starts out with feelings of some kind of uncertainty, and later moves on towards more comforting, settled harmonies, much like when the mist clears and the mood is restored.

'I isolated myself in my home studio over two weekends, so I could get lost in Far Blue’s theme. While making the set I always pictured the colour gradient of a faded unclear horizon. I liked the mystery and the disorientation of the idea, yet at the same time the component of water also gave me something more tangible that I could relate better to sound. Through the process of making the set, I couldn't help picturing the mental image being sunnier every time, until it pretty much became a nice day at the beach, where the horizon was quite obvious.'

A Far Blue concept by Pango (live) - 'Lost & Found'

For a long time now we have been admirers of Orion's music, which is why we are excited to say that they have composed something for Far Blue. This carefully crafted liveset featuring new materials is a melancholich piece which really captures the Far Blue feeling.

The set was recorded during a storm that hit Milan, and soundtracks the various moods of such a day. Listen carefully, and you hear the wind and rain hitting the windows.
