Gwo Ka is music born in Guadeloupe and stands for big drum. It is the union of music, dance, and spirit. 
Two drummers are playing a specific rhythm as the base. The “Makè”, the third drummer, is placed at the center to follow, feel and whisper any of the dancers gestures. He matches the rhythm and energy of the dancers, becoming their shadow, and establishing a real dialogue between them. 
With my project I want to translate the rhythms of Gwo Ka in every upcoming mix. 
There are seven specific rhythms.
This one is "Mennde", dedicated to celebration and escape.

Nihad Tule is a DJ/Producer who likes to wear many hats, as solo artist (Nihad as well as Velež) and as part of collaborative projects Taken (with Elias Landberg) and NTTR-909 with Roseen (with a recent release on Tar Hallow). They’re all techno but each with a distinct flavour. The key ingredient they share is an unvacillating curiosity that typically has him experiment with his collection of hardware and allow himself to channel whatever weird sequences the moment provides. Much like his work behind decks, his sound is tailored for long-haul raving: a maverick mix of frugal bleeps and layer upon layer of rhythmic passion. His self-run label Sloboda is the place to look for the aforementioned. And here comes another. Bassiani Podcast 193 is all gas, no brakes. A turbocharged 75 minute techno paean from this long-serving clubland doyen.

Paris based DJ/Producer Benales is something of a veteran act in his native city of light. He’s played at Laurent Garnier’s Rex, the much-missed Concrete as well as La Station and Berlin staple Tresor. Since the 90s’ twilight years he’s crafted and perfected a raw and utilitarian stripe of techno that’s seen him share the spotlight with the likes of DVS1, Steve Bicknell and James Ruskin. Those references should give you an idea of his sound’s direction of travel, a deep order of ascetic basslines stripped of frills as the Motor City intended. And that goes for his productions too: with names like Construct Re-Form, Sino, Freddy K’s KEY Vinyl, Mitsubasa and Analog Solutions a few of the labels putting out his work (and there’s more in the making). His keen ear and feeling for crowd have earned him an eager audience over the years, and reputation as a go-to for organisers of legendary clubnights Europe-wide. If you’re curious and looking to let yourself fall under his spell, this latest dose of nefarious and wall-shaking beats has you covered. We're back with our #55 Episode of our Schimmer podcast series with Zürich based DJ and producer Jacom.

Born and raised in Southern Italy, Jacom is an emerging techno DJ and producer based in Zurich. In 2006, he fully dedicated himself to electronic music, which quickly brought him behind the decks. When he moved to Zurich in 2012, his career took an exponential upswing.

In 2016, the talented Italian became a member of the renowned label Adroit and has been an integral part of the collective ever since.

In addition to numerous performances in Italy — e.g. Amnesia (Milano), Azimut (Torino), Cosmic Festival (Firenze) — and throughout Switzerland, Jacom has also demonstrated his skills in other European countries. Berlin is also one of his achievements, where he played in well-known venues such as Anomalie, Renate, Else, Æden, or About Blank.

Jacom is characterized by his groovy and hypnotic sets, which is also reflected in his productions. In the summer of 2023, Jacom undertook a completely new project by founding his own label Reverse, to expand and deepen the techno world in all of its shades. The start of Reverse has already been a huge success, thanks to the creation of a various artists compilation — widely supported from all over the globe.

Berlin-based @ogtrues delivers Vault Sessions Podcast #244 — a deep, percussive trip built on rolling grooves, hypnotic rhythms, and a strong tribal undercurrent.

Rill is a DJ and producer from Berlin, Germany, and the co-head of the label Syntop. With several releases, he continues to showcase his production skills. His sound is best described as timeless techno soundscapes enriched with creative sound design. 

Drawing inspiration from early 2010s techno, Rill’s track selection blends atmospheric, percussive, and groovy elements. His moderate yet precise use of synths and FX adds depth, resulting in an overall hypnotic and immersive experience.

- This is my first release, and with it, I want to share not just music, but an honest part of myself.
I didn’t follow any rules or stick to a specific genre while creating it—I simply let my thoughts, emotions, and sonic obsessions speak for themselves. Every sound here was crafted with the intention of gradually shaping what will become my sound, my identity.

This project is the first step on a path that’s just beginning. I know there’s still a lot to improve, but I also know that everything you hear here was made with passion, dedication, and a fully self-taught process.

More music will come this year, but this EP… this one is special.
Thank you for listening. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it.
