Probably the funniest / maddest set I have ever done, Riko was on one all through the show cos someone kept texting up saying they were gonna do this and do that to him. It really shouldn’t have happened on radio, swearing and threats etc but it did and now its like a personal favourite legendary set in my collection.

Slimzee, Riko & Gods Gift - Rinsessions vol. 1 - 2005

The Basement was a Sunday afternoon show on 1Xtra, different guests every week coming into the studio to record a 2 hour set of usually old music that inspired them. There were some surprisingly high profile names on it but the thing was never that well promoted, often you would turn the radio on in hope of it being someone good as they hadn't announced who it was in the schedule. This time it was Oris Jay who around that time would have been producing Dubstep/ Breakstep when it was far from lucrative. He even had a hiatus from producing at some point. But this is all Old Skool Garage. The first hour was four to the floor with the second being 2-step but my file got corrupted so I never heard the later bits. Oris has always been known as a producer first and DJing a very distant second but this is a good show.
