Recording from my 2-4am set in the Yurt at the Ever Afters Campout 2024. I remember the rain picking up right when I started playing, sealing everyone in a portal-like space: one where I was free to explore how propulsion unfolds across different club rhythms. 

Followed this impulse through mecha stompers, frenetic drumwork, ambient rollers, demented half-time, riotous breaks, deconstructed pop and video game samples. Big up freaks for staying locked in during every twist and turn 😈

jaql is a stalwart member of the bubbling jungle scene in NYC. She is keen on world building via her sets that are led by fast breaks and wobbly basslines.

She runs a party series titled ‘Jaywalking’ which grew out of a deep yearning to hear more jungle on local dance floors. Beyond platforming local and name brand jungle DJs, Jaywalking’s goal is also to foster the sound in new ways, inviting people who don't normally play jungle to interpret the sound.

She is also a member of 123, a collective based in Brooklyn hosting a wide range of events from weeknight socials to full blown raves featuring 123’s well-loved basement soundsystem.
