This is my original recording with no stings and no Pete Tong talking(sadly).

“I'm into so many different styles at the minute so it was hard deciding on the vibe I wanted to go for, so there are lots of energy shifts throughout the mix,” she tells us. “It's got some beautiful moments, some deep, moody moments and – of course – some wonky, weirdo high-energy bangers. I also wanted to take the opportunity to showcase some incredible new music from mates, some forthcoming Pressure Dome, and a new remix I've been working on, all of which I'm excited to share!”

Oh yes, this one is gonna get you in the bank holiday mood...

A grey cloud might still be hanging over London but we have Monday off and that's a cause for celebration. Thankfully we've drafted East London DJ ohmydais in for this series at just the right time, because she's come correct with a punchy, pacy mix to set your long weekend off on the right note...

A lover of percussive and bass heavy club cuts, you can find Daisy flipping between a host of different sounds, but they're always fast and furious, usually floating between the 140-160bpm mark.

When she's not playing solo, she's DJing as part of the Team Woibey collective alongside fellow shellers Ell Murphy, FAE and Mixtress, who together host a monthly show on Rinse FM, formerly on Foundation FM. 

With a busy summer schedule ahead of her, we thought what better time to get her on board for a mix. Friday hats at the ready, get well and truly stuck in...

The city of Rotterdam in The Netherlands was of vital importance to the birth of 3024, (both Martyn and Jeroen Erosie lived there for a few years, and the label was named after its zip code!)  It's a bit of a full circle moment to be able to welcome Mike & Joginda aka Black Cadmium to our mix series!


3024: Please describe the mix in a single sentence ?

BC: This is black/afro electronics


3024: What DJ inspires you at the moment / has inspired you throughout the years and why?

BC: Prominent Detroit techno artists like Juan Atkins, Jeff Mills, Kevin Saunderson, Robert Hood have inspired us a lot till this day, but also Rotterdam local hero Benny Rodrigues still triggers us, as well as Ben UFO and his hybrid sound and all-rounders Acemoma. But most of all we inspire each other.


3024: What are you working on / what have you got forthcoming?

BC: At the moment we are mainly busy giving shape and direction to our label and event organization GLXY. We just dropped a compilation with very cool local artists and we have a brand new release forthcoming on Omnidisc, from label owner and Miami based Danny Daze! Really can't wait for this one.

Delphic Iris Label Launch @ Kimchi Berlin 2023 - Drox

Along side his close mate @drox, @16faces is the co-owner of @delphiciris records. Arcane and relatively enigmatic this experimental, Berlin-based musician and producer is also a talented dj and vinyl head collecting and making tunes that skew towards the strange, moody and percussive as well as dipping into ambient territory from time to time.  Incubated in the dry arid burbs of Australia and previously based in London, he has an extensive background that has taken him across several continents, to expand on his deeply nuanced work — which has been influenced by ambient electronics, rich IDM sounds, and a heavy love for dystopian uk bass joints.

Eternal Earwax is a format hosted by Kvadral and DJ CATMUG aka KVÆDMUG.
With love for digging and DJing and without genre borders, they curate a two hour program every other week including their solo projects, b2b Sets or friends and family.

For the thirty sixth episode we invite @noisecasino to provide the soundtrack, who hails from Bogota, Columbia and currently based in Berlin. The mix is a melting pot of bass influenced breakbeats, rhythms and grooves staring at a steady 100bpm slowly working with the tempo as the mix progresses, keeping it modern and engaging which is a nice refreshing change from the more high octane sets I have come across of late. 


This was recorded at the @delphiciris Records launch party, a new label I co-own which was recorded at @kimchirecordz in Berlin.
An excellent soundtrack that paired well with the informal afternoon summer vibe of the launch and was a standout on the day (as were all of the guests). Im happy to have a chance to review the track list to dig into some of the excellent producers and labels that are new discoveries to me also.

Beneath The White Mist Mixtape

It's impossible to talk about the sound of DjRUM without using the word cinematic. Whatever he does, it has a feeling of grand importance, widescreen elegance and moving emotion that elevates it way above a dance floor soundtrack. Throughout the course of his career, the UK artist has drawn on downtempo, blurred the lines between drum & bass and dubstep and always imbued his music with spoken words snippets, piano and chamber instruments. His Portrait With Firewood album was a real high-water mark in 2018, and last year his latest outing on R&S once again managed to draw on every aspect of electronic music and come up with something all his own. 

His mix for us this week is a perfect ethereal rave that finds plenty of beauty in the sparse rhythms he draws on from the worlds of garage, techno and drum & bass. There is a delicacy and elegance throughout, even when the beats hit hard and fast as they do at the overdriven and manic mid point. The amen breaks come thick and fast after that, but eventually melt away to propulsive ambient soundscapes that suspend you in time and space. Blissful.

In the ethereal realm of the void there existed The Delphic Iris, a being of otherworldly power and boundless knowledge. The Iris was said to possess the ability to see into the future and hear unique and strange sounds from times and dimensions beyond our grasp. 

Legend has it that with a specific alignment of space and time, and with the mastering of secret ritual practices, The Delphic Iris can be conjured by mortal musicians to ignite and inspire their souls.

History's stark warnings tells us that summoning The Delphic Iris is fraught with danger and risks the possible collapse of our universe, for the Iris is an unstable and powerful being. However, The Delphic Iris' visions are often too tempting to resist much like a Siren's song.  

In recent years, electronic musicians Drox and 16 Faces came across the existence of the Delphic Iris through secret texts found in "the Book of Tidder" and were able to command its power for short periods of time, and so “Delphic Iris Records” was born.

Fortune has been kind to Drox and 16 Faces so far, despite the obvious risks of summoning the entity. We do not know why this is exactly, as the ceremonies are still to this day shrouded in mystery. What we do know is that we too are lucky, because now we can hear a small glimpse of what The Delphic Iris sees.

  It is up for debate as to whether The Delphic Iris’s intentions are good or evil, so listen with caution and may these sounds consume you, for the future of music looks promising, at least for now ….
