On with the techno mixes, and here's one very dear to my heart. 

Leaving aside S'Express and Technotronic, the first electronica I got into was via the likes of 808 State and Orbital, Sheffeld bleep n' bass, R&S and a bit of Tresor, so I largely missed out on the Detroit scene at the time (circa '90-'92). My critical entry point into falling in love with stateside techno was Plastikman, and once again I need to give thanks to Richard t/e/u/(@user-778760538) and his superb mixtapes, which are largely responsible for this. 
(I've just taken a few off my shelf to reminisce... scanning through a couple there's selections including Wagon Christ, Autechre, Luke Slater, A Guy Called Gerald, AFX, Blake Baxter, Sweet Exorcist, Sabres Of Paradise... lots of awesome stuff. I'd rip these if my walkman wasn't knackered. Maybe they could be future mix tracklists? I digress). 

Through these cassettes Richie Hawtin's minimal - yet spacious, lush, and at times concrete-hard sound was the first to really catch my ear, and Sheet One remains one of my most-cherished albums to this day. Here's a selection of his work mainly under the Plastikman and F.U.S.E. monikers, plus a couple others... yeah, strictly speaking I should have called this the Richie Hawtin mix but Plastikman sounds cooler, doesn't it.
