Timmo follows up his debut Drumcode release ‘We Beat On’ with a brand new 4-tracker packed to the rafters with his own unique blend of techno. His productions are getting plays from the likes of Adam Beyer, Joseph Capriati and Richie Hawtin amongst others; 2017 is set to be his biggest year yet. 

Timmo’s unique sound has captured the eyes and ears of many highly revered techno DJs around the world and his ‘System’ release is a stark reminder of exactly why this is. ‘Intensify’ is a big room record that is set to do some real damage on dance floors worldwide. This peak time tool thumps through 7 minutes of power, dragging you in and throwing you out the other side as the track rolls on. 
‘The Maze’ is an example of his excellent production, with his use of synths on a level that some producers take years to hone. ‘System’ is a haunting track, authentic four-to-the-floor techno that screams in to top gear right from the off. The release closes with the more groove and bass line laden ‘Together’. One of those tracks that is guaranteed to get stuck in your head…

Eine besondere Inspirationsquelle hatte @patrikberg zu seiner neuesten EP nicht: „Meine Ideen entstehen meist während des Produzierens. Ich weiß selber nie, was am Ende des Tages entsteht.“ Für „Running Numbers“ wählte der Musiker drei Werke aus, die in seinem eigenen Studio produziert wurden: „Ich habe das große Glück, dass mein Studio direkt bei mir im Haus ist, daher ist es nicht weit, und ich kann jeden Moment kreativ nutzen.“ Das Titelstück, „Running Numbers“, ist umgeben von atmosphärischen und hypnotischen Synths, die einen tollen Groove auslösen. Eine ungeheuerliche Bassdrum kombiniert mit tighten Hats macht aus der Nummer etwas Großes. (...) Erscheint am 2. Patrik Berg - Running Numbers

In  many  ways,  it’s  difficult  to  believe  Wehbba  only  dropped  his  first  full-length  EP  on  Drumcode  this  year.  Released  in  February,  the  four-tracker  ‘Eclipse’  was  a  monster  statement  piece  of  the  Brazilian’s  talents  and  followed  on  superbly  from  ‘Fake’,  his  contribution  to  last  year’s  A-Sides  Vol.6  –  inarguably  one  of  the  biggest  tracks  on  the  compilation.  With  the  confirmation  that  Wehbba  will  take  part  in  Drumcode’s  Off  Week  party  in  Barcelona,  followed  by  the  brand’s  takeover  of  Resistance  in  Ibiza,  it’s  indisputable  proof  that  his  crisp,  chord-driven  take  on  techno  has  become  a  vital  component  to  the  expansive  palette  of  sound  Adam  Beyer  has  drawn  for  the  label  in  2018  and  beyond.    

‘Catarse’  marks  the  rapid-fire  follow-up  from  the  prolific  producer.  Opening  with  the  eerie  ‘She  Lost  Control’,  Wehbba  says  he  took  inspiration  from  the  Joy  Division  track  of  almost  the  same  name  (‘She’s  Lost  Control’),  but  instead  of  crafting  the  dense  sonic  atmosphere  with  vocals,  he  employs  an  analogue  kick  drum  and  stealth-like  moog  bass  with  dramatic  results.  ‘Process’  follows,  a  cut  which  begun  as  a  cover  jam  of  Laurent  Garnier’s  ‘Crispy  Bacon’and  ends  up  incorporating  the  cut-up  vocals  of  legendary  minimal  composer  Steve  Reich,  who  is  one  of  Wehbba’s  chief  inspirators.  The  resulting  track  is  an  ice-cool  percussive  work  that’s  rich  in  dancefloor  functionalism.  The  title  track  will  befamiliar  to  many  who  follow  Drumcode  Radio,  a  goose-bump  inducing  highlight  of  Beyer’s  DCR392  at  Awakenings  in  Eindhoven,  ‘Catarse’  is  driven  by  a  memorable  melodic  riff  resplendent  in  90’s  techno  euphoria.  The  EP  concludes  with  the  terrific  ‘Mind  Awake’,  a  powerful  concoction  of  reverb  heavy  basslines  and  glitchy  effects,  that’s  been  thoroughly  road  tested  by  both  Beyer  and  Wehbba  and  kicks  like  a  rodeo  bull.

Opening things up, the A1 is called The Granulator and provides intricate hypnotizing reversed stabs and melodic grooves ready to deploy. Following the lead single, we’ve got Rejected Bomb and Intensified Tension, all peak time stormers and staples in Rob Hes’ sets.

EP number sixteen, called 'Abyss EP', comes from the Greek trio Symmetric & Future of Matter. This obscure collection of tracks with a melodic touch, goes the most towards a techno EP from the label so far. Especially because the three originals got strengthened by two great remixes of bastinov and VNTM.

The EP starts off with the title track 'Abyss'. This is the most obscure track of the EP. It got a raw and heavy lower part on which some frightening, atmospheric and almost randomly sounding, synths are build. The further in the track, the less random these synths get and when everything comes together it is one perfect fit.

The second track, called 'River In The Sky', is a brighter one. In this piece of music the melodic side of the EP gets more clear through its hopeful lead melody, but still the track is guided by the characteristic techno influenced lower groove elements. 

Where the originals are raw and stripped down, VNTM's remix of 'River In The Sky' is round and full. It's the most melodic track of the EP and attracts the attention with its spacey and fluctuating ambiance. All this together results in a composition in which you can totally lose your thoughts.

'Anderida' is the fourth track of the EP and is also driven by this characteristic lower part. Some small additions such as a hat are making this track pretty groovy, but the real ear-catcher is its intriguing main lead, which you won't hear every day. 

In his remix of 'Anderida' bastinov added some power to the lower end, by using his heavy kick-bass combination. He took the main synth of the original and brought it company through some interesting and massive synth melodies. All together forming a strong end to a strong EP.
