Ladybird ... one perfect heavy as fuck hypnotic riff played over and over and over and over across 2 sides of an LP.

Back when Shit And Shine formed, the idea was basically to sound like their heroes DRUNKS WITH GUNS and STRANGULATED BEATOFFS, using that same basic formula. A big dumb ass catchy riff played over and over until the joke gets old ... then keep going. 

Recorded live at Southern Studios, London (fun fact: the same room where BAUHAUS recorded 'Bela Lugosi's Dead'!) in 2004 with just two basses, a snare drum, a huge cardboard box and a tiny toy Casio sa-1 keyboard (using the "airplane" sound hitting the same key over and over for 41 minutes)

Some still say it's the best thing shit and shine has ever done. I'm not arguing.

Originally released on CD, and super limited vinyl waaay back in 2005. This was Shit And Shine's second release and it sold out REAL quick.

Remastered and beefed the hell up by Craig Clouse at Shit And Shine Ranch 2022.

Don't sleep on it.

Gutted to hear of Mimi's passing - Low have been one of those bands that have helped me through thick and thin since getting into them 15-odd years ago. Their 13 albums have an amazing amount of unforgettable songs, and at the centre of it all Mimi is usually the standout. I wanted to select something from each album plus a few other faves and string them together to highlight how much different ground the band has covered while having a consistent identity. One of a kind band and Mimi will be sorely missed but never forgotten.

My band, The Czars, opened up for Low at The Bluebird Theater in 1998 and this is the board mix from the amazing Bob Ferbrache (16 Horsepower, Foreskin 500, The Czars, Venus Diablo, Slim Cessna).  Amazing.  Low was one of my biggest influences and still remains so to this day.  We miss you and love you Mimi!

mono no aware (もののあわれ) is the first compilation to be released on PAN, collating unreleased ambient tracks from both new and existing PAN artists.

Featuring Jeff Witscher, Helm, TCF, Yves Tumor, M.E.S.H., Pan Daijing, HVAD, Kareem Lotfy, ADR, Mya Gomez, Sky H1, James K, Oli XL, Bill Kouligas, Flora Yin-Wong, Malibu, and AYYA, the compilation moves through more traditional notions of what is called ’ambient’, to incorporating wider variations that fall under the term.

“Mono no aware”, ‘the pathos of things’, also translates as “an empathy toward things", or "a sensitivity to ephemera”. A term for the awareness of impermanence, or the transience of things. A meditation on mortality and life's transience, ephemerality heightens the appreciation of beauty and sensitivity to their passing. In investigating the passing of time, the boundaries between memory and hallucination become blurred; between fiction and reality. The movement of time transforms into an eternal present.

The album is mastered and cut by Rashad Becker at D&M, featuring photography by Molly Matalon and design by Bill Kouligas. A limited version of 100 copies will be released as a special art edition in collaboration with Mount Analog for the LA Art Book Fair 2017, before going on general release.

Hello. Our crummy band is called WORKIN' MAN NOISE UNIT. Apostrophe, no G. (Yeah, all the good names were taken, OK.) From Reading, UK. We are drums, noise, bass, guitar, vocals, sound, energy, bad jokes, the smell of stale beer on sticky floors. Hit a few chords, see how it sounds. Live, tonight, not sold out.

WORKIN’ MAN NOISE UNIT started in 2010. Since then we’ve played on stages the size of a postage stamp and smaller than that too. And the back rooms of pubs and clubs and restaurants and record stores and pizza establishments and stinking practice rooms. In arts centres and galleries and warehouses and member-run community spaces. In dank basements, a flat in a shopping centre, an old bank vault, a crypt, a bicycle shop. Etc. Plus a few respectable venues accidentally allowed us in to make a racket along the way too. And we’re still doing it because making music with your mates is fucking ace, isn’t it?

It’s been a good ride so far. We’ve heard great music and met great people. Can no longer hold a conversation in a loud room because of screaming tinnitus but it’s probably been worth it. Pardon?

Our new record is called IT’S NOT NOTHIN’ and it has 11 songs and it’s out on the top notch RIOT SEASON RECORDS. It was recorded, mixed and mastered by Wayne Adams at BearBitesHorse. We reckon he even managed to make us sound half-decent, despite our best efforts. Have a listen to it if you fancy.

And then we’re getting back in a van loaded full of half-broken amps and weighed down by LPs and it all carries on. Dreaming of hot meals and bladder control. The motorway again. Set lists written on the back of old flyers and wetherspoons receipts. Snyder’s hot buffalo wing pretzel pieces, a.k.a. gold medals, washed down with buckfast. And how nice are chips? Well nice.

Rasmus Rasmussen (Aerosol, Causa Sui) and Keith Canisius are back with another delightful set of Astral TV tracks. Since their debut album, ”Chrystal Shores” from 2017, the Copenhagen-based duo have refined and perfected their approach to making semi-improvised synthesizer music. Musically it doesn't get much more pure than this. From their vast assemblage of synthesizers - that is, vintage, modern, digital, analog and modular synthesizers - the two producers are squeezing the finest sonic essence, for your neural pleasure.

Forget about song structures and leads – it's not that kind of album. Listening to ”Travelling The Circuits” is like floating on an electronic river through a slowly changing scenery. There's really no story here, and it's not about the destination. It's about colours – lots of colours. And the tactile beauty of sounds and patterns, filters slowly opening and closing, letting your senses tickle by a unique 80hz oscillation that only a wood-panelled analog synth from the early 1980s can produce. ”Travelling The Circuits” is a true auditory delight.

Eartheater unveils a new single, “Below The Clavicle.” It is her first release for PAN since her 2018 album IRISIRI.

Eartheater shares the following about the track: “I wrote ‘Below the Clavicle’ when I was waiting to understand more about a situation before talking about it — when the meaning was still below the clavicle and hadn’t made it up to my head yet. The understanding was still underground — forging in my heart and gut. In my upcoming album, I thought a lot about lava and volcanoes and the formation of stone and mountains.”
