Neon Dawn

Panorama Bar resident Massimiliano Pagliara expands the horizon of his already vast musical contributions with the launch of his new label Funnuvojere Records. Named after a small beach site in Salento, southern Puglia (Italy), the record label aims to fathom the depths of contemporary synthesizer music with an open approach towards different musical genres. 

Taking care of the imprints’ debut release, James Booth steps up with a brand new 4-tracker, covering the cosmic depths of spaced-out Italo, sun-drenched balearic nostalgia and deep house dimensions. Our pick of the bunch "DXXX" is a highly-energetic laser excursion that is bound to do some dance floor damage!

Premiere: James Booth - DXXX [Funnuvojere Records]

Claptrap’s first release of 2020 comes from Longhair, a Berlin based project formed of two Renate residents Marko Pelaic (Homeboy) & Bene Bogenberger (1/2 of Peak & Swift). The release follows on from their 12" on Renate Schallplatten last year, alongside a previous EP for Bordello A Parigi and remixes for PBR Streetgang’s new imprint.

The Heatwave EP features 3 floor-ready original tracks plus a remix of the title track by Johannes Albert (Frank Music, Fine).
The final cut ‘Pizzamouse' a more relaxed slice of melodic house sees the release out in style with dancing rubbery synth lines which is sure to get those feet moving.

Night Noise returns with a wonderful EP from Italian duo Outtake. Outtake have recently been heard on one of our favourite labels Codek, So we are super pleased to have them on Night Noise. 

Monsterotico is the EP and features 3 fantastic tracks of electronica that will appeal to a wide range of tastes. Italo, Disco and House vibes can be heard throughout the EP which delights at every turn. The EP features two original compositions the title track 'Monsterotico' is supported by 'Lady Genesis' and remix of 'Lady Genesis' from label buddy Alex Aguayo. We love this EP and hope you do too.

The waves rolled in heavily but he was not afraid, for he was in love with the ocean and the murky depths. He could taste the saltwater in his mouth as the sun beamed down upon him from the heavens above. Soon he would be home... 

Joe Morris reminds us that it's summertime on a new EP for Shades of Sound. A sun kissed affair with balearic sensibilities bound to leave a smile on your face and a longing for warmer climates.

The https://soundcloud.com/new_world is upon us once again. It has been seven years already, since Markus Gebauer debuted on Riotvan under the guise of his New World moniker. That's quite a while in the realm of those sometimes short-term goings-on of clubculture. Yet, Gebauer kept himself busy meanwhile with his alter ego Interviews, reviving the erstwhile identity now that times are calling for a New World more than ever. And that's both, very generally speaking and particularly regarding his slick and classy approach to Neo-Disco-affairs. Interestingly, the lion's share of this EP had been laid down already five years ago, in an ahead of the curve nature that it couldn't sound more up to date right now in 2020. 

Take opener "Glances" for example. Suspense-packed arpeggio meets a groove-laden bass, gets kissed by some smooth melodies and far-out pads and evokes an immense open-air-hymn potential. Here's a little advance notice: that tune might not leave your head for the whole rest of the summer. "Enough!" in its seductive nonchalance seems to be cut from the same cloth. Another Indie-Disco sureshot filtered through shades-lenses. But "Enough!" - seriously? The hereby summoned feelgood-vibe will surely leave you wanting more. And more you shall get. "Fade Out" opens up with a rather straight beat-pattern, but again, the synth-arrangements, the melodies and harmonies are pure bliss. And then there is "Poéme", that Frankophile floor-enchantment, shaped out in sophistication and elegance, throwing in some subtle Depeche Mode-references and taking the French leave as one of the strongest clubtracks in this batch. Closing things up is https://soundcloud.com/the-juan-maclean, giving "Enough!" a makeover that aims for the dancefloor as much as, let's say the hammock, infusing both, an irresistible groove and a laid back, almost Dub-like attitude.

New World - Glances (Snippet)

Leo Mas and Sally Rodgers are as relevant today as they were at the beginning of the house music revolution. The former continues a legacy that began in Ibiza, where he DJ’d the most fabled nights at Amnesia and pioneered the Balearic sound, and today produces wonderful grooves together with another great Italian DJ, his longtime partner, Fabrice. The latter has cruised the fertile fields of electronic music since the late eighties, at the forefront of idiosyncratic genre offshoots like acid jazz and cosmic Balearic as a producer, DJ and singer, along with musical partner Steve, as the U.K. duo A Man Called Adam.

‘This Unspoken Love’ offers a mellow euphoria, skywards pads and pulsating bass that coaxes a sense of something eternal. Rodgers sings of unspoken love surviving and recalls that faded dream of utopia, imagined on analog synthesizers and broadcasted to pulsating crowds, all plugged into the same feeling of immortal bliss.

“The north star still shines, the dream lives on. Sometimes you just have to close your eyes to sense it.”

This release features the vocal radio edit of the track. An extended and dub version will be released in August.
