Born in Alexandria City, VA Rio developed a love for music at a young age. Inspired by all elements of music ranging from hip hop and R&B to Alternative and Blues. He began writing music during his short years spent in High School and started recording soon after. Around the age of 15 Rio was introduced and began working with the DMV areas Award Wining producer Text Sosa (Alonzo Sosa). Developing a unique sound and style Rio went on to open for major artist such as Jadakiss, Sheek Luch, Swizz Beats and Scarface.

Later in 07-08 after linking up with former 93.9wkys radio personality IIFace Ya Wild Boy, his two verse feature on Young Stephs "Put That On Everything" gained radio spins.
Songs featured on DJ P-Cutta's "Taking The Industry By Storm 9: Hosted By Red Cafe'" IIFace Ya Wild Boy/93.9's Metro Bangers Vol 1, and much more. Learning the business, He later Developed a business and continues to expand inside and outside of music.
