Two years later, the world of Joy Frempong’s Oy grows up with Look At Me, a 7-track EP made up of reinterpretations from 2010’s critically-acclaimed debut album First Box Then Walk. The package includes a large group of talented Swiss artists like Ripperton (Perspectiv), Kadebostan (Freund Am Tanzen), Feldermelder, as well as Creaked labelmate’s Julien Aubert, Casque and Consor. Chicago’s young promising juke/footwork producer Dj Diamond (Planet Mu) also features on Look At Me. The result brings a floor-friendly way of exploring and re-discovering Oy’s universe of Childhood memories.
All artists on Look At Me approach Oy’s material from a very personal vision, meticulously using Joy Frempong’s impressive voice with their own trademark stylings and production techniques. Julien Aubert’s “Look At Me” interpretation of ‘First Box Then Walk’ is playful house with deep synth pads and continually evolving voice loops; Feldermelder majestically plunges ‘Trolls’ into his slow-motion psychedelic beatscapes. Casque’s remix of ‘Snake’ turns the track into an infectious groove complete with massive bass lines, fat drums and melodic synths; rising producer Kadebostan’s take on ‘Cloudy Gallery’ is warm and organic, 4/4 electro-house with addictive melodies and a smooth late-night sax solo. Ripperton’s modern jealousy of ‘Laundry’ is super catchy with a strong hook & bassline and closing the EP, Consor brings a touch of electronic quietness on ‘New Year’ with its splendid ambient and melancholic sounds.

Michael Nyman &amp; David McAlmont - Secrets Accustions &amp; Charges - Max Cooper Deconstruction/Reconstruction

I wrote these two remixes as a pair, starting only with two audio files, one orchestral part of all the strings, piano etc, and one vocal part of David McAlmont singing. It wasn't easy to tame the parts into an electronic format that I was happy with, so I opted to cut everything up into tiny segments and reconstruct my own track which ended up really different from the original - my "Deconstruction" mix. Then I was faced with the problem of exactly that, that the remix sounded nothing like the original, so I then tried to reconstruct back to the original from the parts I had made - my "Reconstruction" mix. It was an interesting production exercise I guess, not an easy remix job, but hopefully it yielded something interesting.

Roger Hodgson wrote and composed the songs listed above on the Breakfast in America Album. Though all the above songs that Roger recorded with Supertramp were credited equally Hodgson/Davies, that does not reflect how it really was. Roger actually wrote his songs while he was alone and many of his biggest hits were songs he had written before he met Rick and co-founded the band. Roger and Rick actually wrote separately, though they continued to share writer's credit. Of course, it would have been Roger's preference if he'd had better advice and had all the songs he wrote in just his name and the ones Rick wrote just in Rick's name so there would not be so much confusion about the difference in artistic, lyrical and musical styles of each songwriter and composer.

Breakfast in America - Breakfast in America Album

For this remix they asked for something heavy, so I tried to make something nice and straight and rhythmically focused on the kick, with some distortion and big spacious noise, with a touch of melody to deliver my influence on the mix. It's a dancefloor track, and sounds best when you play it obscenely loud!

Release date is on Monday 3rd December, and I think it will also be available on vinyl 12"
