Following recent releases such as ‘Lift Your Hands Up’ and ‘Can U Hear Me?’, German House act Milk & Sugar is back with a stunning new Samuele Sartini, Jonk & Spook remix of the 2003 club classic, ‘Stay Around’.

Initially, 'Stay Around' was released on vinyl back in 2003, exactly at the same time as the hype around Milk & Sugar's massive hit 'Let The Sun Shine' began. Now 20 years later, Italy's rising house music trio Samuele Sartini, Jonk & Spook breathe new life into the classic track with a hot new rework, blending a glowing bassline and driving beats with the distinctive voice of South Sudanese singer-songwriter and long-time Milk & Sugar collaborator, Ayak Thiik.

Bonjour tout le monde ! Des mois que vous nous la demandez, de semaines qu’on la peaufine, voici la nouvelle DECADE MIXTAPE ! Carte postale d’une époque et véritable madeleine de Proust, cette fois-ci direction les années 80s pour plus d’une heure de musiques et d’actualités qui ont rythmé la décennie ; de la chute du mur de Berlin à l’arrivée du Minitel en passant par la sortie d’E.T.
Ce concept n’aurait certainement jamais vu le jour sans le travail du duo australien Flight Facilities qui nous ont inspirés en réalisant plusieurs mixtapes en anglais sur le même thème. Nous voulions, à notre tour, proposer ce format avec un regard plus personnel sur cette époque et une dimension francophone qui nous tient à coeur.
On espère que vous l’apprécierez. Cette frise musicale est désormais à vous. Hâte de lire vos commentaires !

Bon Entendeur - Decade Mixtape 80's

The summer was gorgeous this year; we were blessed with a decent amount of sun, which made everything glow with saturated colours and vibrating air. Nature, landscapes and people could reveal their beauty.

I was lucky this summer to celebrate a genuine union of people, music and nature in La Clusaz at Le Champ des Platines of Radio Meuh. The majestic mountains welcomed and embraced us, allowing to enjoy the beautiful day at l’alpage de l’Étale - the pasture covered with a soft carpet of a fresh grass. The lovely people who climbed to dance with us brought so much love. We danced till everything melted in the golden light of sunset.

The recording of my 3-hour-long set brought all the sensations back, and I am again at l’alpage de l’Étale. Thank you for the love and care you gave to us.

The grass in the pasture will grow healthier this year. The cows will be happier, and Reblochon will get even tastier. A bientôt les amis!

Le Champ Des Platines 2023 DJ set

Savion is an enchanting soundscape that blends the icy wind of winter with the warmth of a Stockholm apartment fireplace. Savion is also the soaring poetry of well-chosen words, blending with electro-acoustic instrumentals tinged with an indie pop folk flavor. Their first single Broken Into sets the scene for the album in preparation, with Charlotta Ribbefjord's magnetic voice accompanied by hypnotic backing vocals, deep bass and Anders Pihlgren's gentle guitar chords. The gentleness of the instruments contrasts with the harshness of the lyrics, which depict the pain of a break-up.

Ils auraient pu vivre et se rencontrer il y a six décennies, quelque part entre un concert des Beatles et le comptoir en zinc d’un pub anglais : After Geography, c’est ce duo composé de deux mômes des 90’s aux allures rétro et dandy foot, pour qui jouer de la musique ensemble relève de l’évidence. Car si Julien Méret et Nicolas Baud se rejoignent, c’est bien sur cette passion fervente du songwriting et de la pop rock british des 60’s aux 90’s. Des influences dont ils infusent leur musique depuis n 2021, entre la sortie de deux maxi 45 T de 3 titres et une tournée d’une cinquantaine de dates.



Fabriquer des chansons, leur donner une voix et une texture, un corps et une enveloppe : tel est le leitmotiv d’After Geography, pour qui l’écriture tient de l’intuition et de la spontanéité autant que de la nécessité. Dans ses textes, le duo explore avec une autodérision faussement désinvolte les ares d’une génération un peu paumée : si la dépression est le mal du siècle, alors After Geography la transforme en un personnage loufoque ou en redessine les contours dans l’imaginaire et la métaphore. Sur un son sauvage mais jamais criard, des arrangements pop sophistiqués et des rythmes acidulés, le duo joue des harmonies vocales et saupoudre sa musique d’une basse mélodique et d’une guitare toujours subtile. Mais chercher à dénir le style After Geography serait peut-être, dans un sens, ne pas tout à fait le saisir. Britpop ou Glam Rock, un brin folk dans l’intention, parfois punk dans l’énergie : pour After Geography après tout, peu importe le genre, du moment qu’il y a la musique. Et c’est d’ailleurs pour mieux la servir que le duo s’entoure de deux musiciens en live et donne ainsi à ses morceaux une dimension nouvelle, plus brute, plus rock et plus primaire.

Après un premier album salué par la critique marqué d'une tournée française de 35 dates, de premières parties remarquables (Sting, Alice Cooper, Mika, Kyo, Izia, etc..), EDGÄR font un retour rock fracassant avec leur nouveau single "Time". Premier extrait de leur prochain album (printemps 2024), le duo pop-rock amiénois sonne la révolte et revient à ses amours d'adolescence avec un titre rock percutant et engagé. Issus d'une génération bercée par le son des guitares saturées, Edgär se bat pour subsister dans une société où les artistes sont devenus des produits de consommation éphémères.

En novembre prochain, c’est désormais sur les rivages agités d’une plage de sable blanc que nous emmêne l’ardent duo pour la sortie de leur premier album « Paris cyclone ». Empruntant une direction musicale plus rythmée, aux voix et au parlé-chanté plus assumés, les Charlotte Fever parviennent à faire évoluer leur univers entêtant vers de nouvelles sphères sans se défaire pour autant de la langoureuse chaleur qui leur colle à la peau. Tantôt lumineux, tantôt baignés d’une inquiétante étrangeté, toujours très mélodiques, les morceaux composés à quatre mains par Cassandra et Alexandre parviennent à bousculer la sobriété de l’électro pop actuelle en parant ses atours synthétiques de marimbas et flûtes en bois.

Découvrez  "Russian Roulette", un titre débordant d'énergie rock au hook imparable, deuxième extrait d’Edgär is dead, le nouvel album du duo Edgär prévu pour le 1er mars 2024.  Lorsque Antoine et Ronan se rencontrent, tous deux font leurs armes sur la scène amiénoise : Antoine dirige énergiquement son groupe de Rockbidule, tant dis que Ronan exerce ses talents de compositeur au sein de son groupe de Popytruc. À cette époque, jouer dans les bars est non seulement autorisé , mais c'est même considéré comme une mode, ce qui est impensable en France en 2023. La toute première fois que les deux garçons partagerons la scène ensemble, ce sera lors d’un concert d’Antoine. Pour l’occasion, Ronan sera invité à rejoindre le groupe sur scène avec sa guitare pour y interpréter une reprise des Lords of the New Church. Et imaginez quel morceau ? RUSSIAN ROULETTE !

‘Visions of You’ sees Viktor Westerberg and Carl Leanderson trying to shed the memory of past love to a backdrop of vibrant vocal harmonies and glossy yacht indie grooves.

“‘Visions of You’ is about when that person from your past keeps popping up in your mind. The memory stirs something in you, and suddenly it’s like a phantom of that person is standing right in front of you. Life continues and you think you’ve moved on, but you’re still never really able to escape that question of “What if?” says Viktor Westerberg.

After joining Donny Benét’s “Infinite Desires” tour for sold-out shows throughout Europe and Scandinavia, the duo is now finishing their debut album, scheduled for release this fall on French indie label Riptide Records.

A debut release for both band and label, Parisian duo Paradis' bring two eloquently produced tracks to Beats In Space in the form of the Parfait Tirage b/w La Ballade de Jim 12" (BIS001). Admirers from afar of DJ Tim Sweeney's weekly on air institution of 12 years (from which the label takes its name), Paradis submitted demos hoping they might hack it for some play time. 

Reared on classical and jazz, turned young hip hop rebels, turned teen club crawlers, and then university machine tinkerers, Simon Mény & Pierre Rousseau grew out of genre jumping while young enough to stay ahead and settle into music making centered around melody and emotion. 

This touchstone approach is perfectly apparent on "Parfait Tirage", a track built around sublime synth ambiance, a compelling sequence lead, and what will one day be unmistakably recognized as the Paradis vocal sound. The b-side, "La Ballade of Jim", is a deep techno take on beloved French artist Alain Souchon's track from the 80s, and already a staple in Sweeney's live set. 

Each 12" from Beats in Space features original artwork in considerate & serial form. The first 12" features artwork by Bjorn Copeland, a 21st century schizoid collagist and member of NYC experimental music legends Black Dice. The 12" packaging constructed by Will Work For Good features a vinyl BIS logo cling. The 12" will be available on September 20th, 2011 from fine retailers worldwide. The digital version will be available October 4th, 2011 from the drab internet universe.

It’s been two years since the release of “Eyes” - the debut single from Borneland featuring Line Gøttsche. Friday the 24th of February 2017 the brothers are back, and Music For Dreams are proud to release two sublime remixes of the beautiful track.
Eyes was the follow up of “Bug A Boo (Borneland Remix)” - a reworking of Destiny’s Child all-time classic ‘Bug A Boo’ featured on MTV and Billboard. The original track combines classic keyboard sounds individually championed by the brothers including Rhodes piano, Prophet 08 synth and characteristic SH-101 sub bass, with acoustic violin by Andreas Birk and soulful vocals by Line Gøttsche. This is a track that not only communicates the simplicity of life and the perdition of love for another person, it's fragile vocal and compelling beauty just sticks in your head. To create the full experience of on this sublimely beautiful track, we’ve included the original too – you do not want to miss out on it!
