I am very happy to share with you the remix I did for Seeb's Run It Up! When I heard the original for the first time, I thought that it could be cool to change the pitch and the formant of the chorus vocals to make them sound more feminine. I then wrote the main piano melody for the first break and the drops. Last but not least, I composed the orchestral part for the second break! Thanks for listening!

I am very happy to share with you my latest track ‘Can't Resist You’!
Can’t Resist You is one of my favourite tunes to produce to date! When I came across the vocal I knew I had to do something with it. After several versions, I finally went for a Flume - y type of break and an energetic piano drop.  I wanted the song to sound like spring and to express that “falling in love” feeling. I tried to represent the butterflies in the stomach sensation, the blossom, the flowers, the colors and the happiness you feel when you are excited about someone or something that you fall in love with. Of course you can make your own interpretations. That’s what music is all about!  
Anyway, I had so much fun making this one. 🌸❤️

Chapter 1: Εverywhere
‘Everywhere’ is finally out! I think 'Everywhere' showcases my effort to create that nostalgic, yet danceable and energetic vibe, that I always loved in electronic music and that can be heard more representatively in songs by The Chainsmokers, San Holo and Calvin Harris. The “old-school EDM” era as I call it, that of ‘Under Control’, ‘Kanye’ and ‘We Rise’, has impacted me deeply and has prompted me to start producing electronic music in the first place. I remember writing ‘Everywhere’ back in the summer of 2021, while I was experimenting with darker musical themes. For the breaks of the track, I wanted to create space for the vocal with longer piano chords and acoustic guitars, while for the drops I opted for shorter progressive electronic synth chords. 💫

Riscape - Everywhere (Radio Mix) [Mystery Freedom Records]

Chapter 2: In My Head
I started writing ‘In My Head’ back in the spring of 2021, in a rather intense period for me.
The first version was more melancholic, but I switched up my mind and reproduced the whole track, to make it sound triumphant and celebratory.
The song is inspired by NVOY tracks like “Make You Mine” and “You Are” which made use of short vocals with groovy - progressive instrumentations under them. I got interested in this production technique and I would be happy to implement it more in future productions.
The second break of ‘In My Head’ is inspired by Alkistis Protopsalti’s 2002 song “Trava Skandali”, with the beautiful chill acoustic guitars, that I always loved. Protopsalti is one of the great Greek singers and a personal favorite.

Riscape - In My Head (Radio Edit) [Mystery Freedom Records]

In pessimistic times, I wanted to make an optimistic record, that expresses the joy and the gratitude someone can experience in their life. ‘So Good’ is an uplifting house tune that was influenced by Kanye West’s gospel vocals and Dombresky’s ‘Bless Me’. The track’s structure is straightforward, with a classic UK house-influenced piano complementing the vocals and the drop coming after 50 seconds to unleash the energy. In the middle of the track, the tone becomes darker and more melancholic to create an antithesis of the otherwise cheerful character of the first break and drops. Uncertainty will occur at times, but good times will rise again and prevail, on the way to the second drop. ☁️

This is my first tune on British label Almighty1 Records. They immediately showed interest in the tune and I was pleased to work with them on the release.

With 'Solar' and 'Spiral' I wanted to create a house EP that takes the listener on a quest for the roots of melodic progressive house. I think a lot of the power of house music lies in the fact that it pays great attention to the beat, the groove, and the melodies of a track. In that way it becomes international, transcultural, and unifying, something I always loved about it. These two productions are built around instrumental ideas and trance - y chord progressions, between day and night, sun and darkness.

Spiral (Extended Mix)

‘Feelings’ idea started by chopping an orchestral sample to create a repeatable loop. When we added the vocal on top of it, we were already excited. We knew that the track needed an energetic drop, so we tried a UK - piano and it fit perfectly. The next thing we had to take care of was the bass and Ruben did his best to create a proper UK - house bass. From this point on, we added groovy elements to keep the second break energetic and build our way for the second drop. The track concludes cyclically, as it started, bringing those feelings back once and for all. Hope you enjoy this tune as much as we did!

With 'Neverever' I wanted to create an energetic summer tune, that can do equally well at a bar or a festival/club setting. The key - point of the record I think is its quick vocal chops that keep the energy going and the groove flowing in the drops. For the second break, I wanted to relax things down a little bit, so I used this French-sounding piano underneath the main vocals. For the second drop, the chops make their comeback once and for all, together with a Disclosur-y influenced continuous 'Uh'. All in all, I hope 'Neverever' brings you the joy it brought me when I was making it. 🐟🌙

With ‘Lqueur’, I wanted to create a summer tune, sunny and straightforward.  The idea revolves around a main vocal sample I chopped for the drops. Adding a Spanish guitar and vocal ambiance, I strived to create the proper setting for the track to evolve. ‘Blue’ is my second collaboration with the talented Dutch sonic master Ruben De Jongh.
I created the core idea melody-wise, and Ruben came up with the groove and bass elements that add all the energy and impact to the track.
The vocal is ethereal, the sounds are dreamy and the groove is techy, making up for a solid melodic house record in our opinion. 
After some back-and-forth sending, meticulous mixing, and mastering the tune was ready! 🌼

I wrote 'Stuck' as I experimented with new ways of using samples creatively. I started by repeating the main sample for the first break and drop.
Adding a vocal on top of the second break, made the track in its current form.
Chopping the main sample for the third part of the drop completed the idea.
The song has a real Valentine’s Day vibe imo, and that's why I decided to put it out on that special day.

Stuck (Extended Mix)

I wrote 'Raindrops' on a summer day of summer 2024. Once I came across the main sample, I wanted to develop the idea further and create a summer-y, bright tune. A little bit of the heat outside, a little bit of summertime in the air, and a little bit of the cicadas singing outside all played their role in shaping the final version of the idea. Almost one year later, 'Raindrops' are here for the world to listen to via Mystery Freedom Network. 🌈

Got the chance to remix the great Ellie Goulding and Tarrus Riley in their collaboration with Major Lazer: ‘Powerful’. 
I wanted to create a garage-y house version and this is the result.

With a classical piano training background at Chalandri's National Conservatory (A' Anotera / B' Solfège) and a 1st Prize at XON’s Panhellenic Piano Competition (2007), Athens-based musician John Rigas turned to electronic music production, after attending a Martin Garrix show at Paradise Club Mykonos (2015). With studies at SAE Athens, under the guidance of the acclaimed Greek DJ Sparky T (2016) and at Grey Studios Athens, under the influence of Armada Music producer HitTheBass (2017), John released his first track as Riscape in 2020, the electrifying ‘Persistence’ (Not Giving Up). 
In the summer of 2021, Riscape was officially part of the up-and-coming Dutch record label Mystery Freedom Records (@mysteryfreedom). His first releases with the label include the summer track 'The Groove Is Coming' and the expressive tune 'Can't Resist You'. In 2023 he released his first EP 'Unity' and in 2024 his second EP, 'Two x S'. 

As Riscape, John also hosts the radio show 'Riscape Reality Radio' (@risc-real), in which he blends his favorite dance tunes with his own music.

Riscape's tunes have been featured in several acclaimed Spotify playlists, including Correr (EDM Joy), Heavy Rotation (Sirup Music) and Dance Top Hits (Spinnin' Records). They have also received radio and blog support, as well as praise from world-renowned electronic music producers/DJs.
