Kobi and I have known each other well before we had ever met; over those epic Deep Dish '90's sessions at the legendary Haoman 17 club in Tel Aviv. While we shared a deep love of dance music, his trajectory veered into LA nightclub operation, promotion and ultimately, his ode to the seemingly perfect venue, Sound Nightclub. I still remember the tour he and Craig Pettigrew gave me before they opened the doors. It was - and is - beautiful.

Over the past decade, with each visit, I watched as Kobi tweaked, fine-tuned. revamped, and upgraded endless times - never missing the slightest detail - to ensure that gave their crowd and the numerous top-tier artists who've graced that booth, the perfect nightclub experience. From the layout...to sound, production and staff, Kobi nailed it; it's why Sound is on a very short list of venues I'd be willing to do an open to close set.

So a very happy 10yr anniversary Sound Nightclub and congrats to my brother Kobi; hope you all enjoy my 6hr journey from last month.

2 to 3-month worth of rain hit us at Black Rock City on Friday, but that wasn't going to stop us at Casa de la Rumba. The true techno dream team of Dubfire & Oliver Huntemann revisit their Elements project from a few years ago with a new series of killer remixes. Terra - originally released in 2011, did all sorts of damage to dance-floors across the globe. Now, it’s all set to do it again thanks to this Joseph Capriati Remix. The Italian techno headliner has grown into a major force on the scene in recent years, and here delivers a signature slice of muscular, driving techno - taut, dramatic and devastating. Paired with a remix of the now seminal Feugo Julien Jeweil’s remix also hits the spot - the track received a 2016 overhaul with some of Jeweil’s signature flair. The Frenchman has been a constant figure on the top of various charts and line ups for some time, and its easy to see why - Fuego is stripped back machine funk primed for big systems and even bigger moments.

Senso Sounds drop a major release from techno heavyweight Dubfire and label boss Oliver Huntemann. Reuniting the partnership that has seen a string of seminal releases over the years in the form of their 'Elements' series, 'Humano' is the 2nd part of a continuation of this series - more weapons of grade dance-floor material from the high profile duo. Later on this year their partnership will be summarized in their 'Restrospec- tivo' album.
Former Deep Dish man Dubfire’s uncanny knowledge of how to create epic dance- floor moments is in full effect, combined with Huntemann’s precision tool production techniques on the original version of the title track. The result is a super tough, tight and incalculably driving slice of techno goodness that will ignite floors worldwide. The rest of the EP manages to maintain the pressure - with a set of sick remixes from Victor Ruiz, Hatzler and Shaded.
Ruiz, the Brazilian techno pioneer adds another level of fire to the original, tweaking and refining the track into a damager that pushes everything to 11 and hits home with every play. Hatzler, the Hamburg based German DJ/producer chooses a different direction - emphasizing more of the space in the original. Rinsing the tension to the next level, look out for the epic middle section break down. The whole package is primed to destroy clubs far and wide - techno at its most effective. Shaded’s Summer Skin remix also delivers a tightly wound interpretation, with a bubbling bass line and nervous, excited groove providing the fuel for an extended dancefloor excursion.
