Washington DC-based synth pop duo Blue Skies and Death bring you the best of that decade's synth pop with modern production polish - think CHVRCHES, St. Lucia, and Savoir Adore. Founded in 2016 by producer Lazzo (Rites of Ash, Lazzo) and vocalist Annalytics. Three singles have been released - Parallel Lines, Little Things and Trainwreck (feat. Artem Grigoryev) - all of which can be found on iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, and all other digital stores. The electronic pop/hard rock outfit Rites of Ash has always been known for accepting nothing less than perfection when it comes to their work. Combining countless influences into a unified and original sound has helped define the band as innovators in an industry desperately lacking originality. No genre or sound is off-limits for the band; this is evident in their extensive list of influences that include Linkin Park, Skrillex, Nine Inch Nails, RedOne, and Lady Gaga. Rites of Ash is comprised of Alex (vocals), Lazzo (guitars, keyboards, programming/sequencing), Toni (vocals), Tuomas (keyboards), and Ace (bass). 

Being an unsigned band hasn’t hindered them from making three professional music videos with airings on Fuse TV and MTVu, performing on the Dew Tour, nominated for two WAMA (Wammie) Awards, releasing four studio albums, and having their music featured on over ten MTV shows including: “The Real World,” “Pimp My Ride,” and “Next.” Rites of Ash’s live show is equally impressive, boasting choreographed lighting effects, custom-built stage pieces, and synchronized videos displayed on various flat-panel monitors. 

Their music and live show have garnered them numerous accolades from the mainstream music industry; it has been described as “unique but mainstream, hard-hitting yet romantically suave…truly cutting-edge song writing.” (S. Diablo, MTV) 

The band has collaborated with Pablo Manzarek (son of Ray Manzarek of ‘The Doors’), world-renowned DJs Idee and Paul Edge, photographer Doug Sonders, and Grammy-winning engineer Kevin “131” Gutierrez. ‘Kept Me Up All Night’, a dance/dubstep remix album of selected tracks from ‘She’s Out for Blood’ (2012) and the upcoming full-length LP (2013/2014), will be released in the Summer of 2013. The band is currently in the studio with Grammy-winning producers Jeff Bova and Kevin Gutierrez working on the new full-length album.

Lazzo is a producer, engineer, and songwriter specializing in the rock, electronic, dance, and pop genres. He has produced singles, EPs, and LPs for numerous artists and done remixes for Rites of Ash, Great Good Fine OK, and Grammy Award-winning and Platinum recording artist LeAnn Rimes. He has had his music featured on numerous MTV shows, FUSE, MTV2, and MTVu, as well as shared the stage with many national and international artists.  He is currently working on the debut album with his new band, Blue Skies and Death.

Lazzo primarily works on music and radio production with DJ Boy Collective and DJ Boy Radio. Current and past projects include: the Aeropostale® PS Mobile Application (2013), The Screening Room Express Radio Show (2014), Sub Pop Radio (2014), Fedde Le Grand Radio (2014), Kill Rock Stars Radio (2014), and RVRB on TuneIn (2015). Lazzo and his DJ Boy team taught Master Classes at the Los Angeles and Brooklyn Grammy® Camps. Lazzo is a member of ASCAP, the Washington Area Music Association (WAMA), and a voting member of the Grammy Recording Academy (NARAS).
