Sara Jane is a singer songwriter from the beautiful state of Tasmania, recently moved to Melbourne, who doesn't go unnoticed. Her style is unique, individual and not something that is easily boxed or categorized into one particular genre. Instead Sara Jane has a real sense of diversity and spontaneity, with each song taking you on a new musical journey to the next. This variety stems from a broad range of musical influences such as old school sounds like Eva Cassidy, Ella Fitzgerald and Bob Marley and modern sounds like Regina Spektor, Lanie Lane and Missy Higgins.
With the support of her dynamic band, Sara Jane connects with her listeners through funky reggae style grooves that can get you moving in your seat as well as more intimate bluesy connections that are raw and honest. Through elements of blues, reggae, pop, and folk she captivates and immerses audiences of all ages and backgrounds as she takes you on story of all those things we can relate too; love, loss, life.

Suzanne knew from the early age of 4 music was her calling. She discovered she could sing along with any song on the radio and by age 7 was writing stories and lyrics in preparation for her first 'official' bricks and mortar piece at 15, written for guitar and voice and titled 'Runaway with me'. When it's in your bones and the pull is strong, your destiny is almost pre-determined, with the only thing loosely written, being the steps and pathways you walk to reach this destination.

Fast track to 2022 and 38 years of music driving her heart, the award-winning Singer-Songwriter and multi-instrumentalist has shared the stage with the likes of Gotye, Deborah Conway, Dallas Frasca and Liz Stringer, and toured and performed in Australia, Canada and New York. Suzanne has performed at a number of esteemed Australian festivals including Woodford Folk Festival and Queenscliffe Music Festival, and in 2014, released her compelling Indie Pop debut album, 'The Conversation'. Launched at The Toff in Town Melbourne (supported by Nussy and Damon Smith), Suzanne's endearing and dynamic vocals are the heart and soul of this album, whilst her groove infused bass playing brings to mind the melodic lines of Paul McCartney and Meshell Ndegeocello.

​Suzanne's second offering, a five track EP entitled 'Surrender’, was recorded in 2016/2017 and written for her first born son, Hendrix, documenting motherhood and the journey to keep one's artistic identity in tact.

​In December 2018 Suzanne broadened her artistic work and flexed her muscles as an educator (BMus, Grad DipEd) releasing her first children's audio eBook entitled 'Paper Daisies' that contains eight children's songs and beautiful botanical imagery. Limited edition art prints also accompanied the release. Suzanne is looking towards the release of her second eBook entitled ‘Sweet William’ in early 2022.

I am a baritone vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and composer from the outer suburbs of Melbourne. I write and perform in a wide variety of musical contexts, and I am currently studying at the Victorian College of the Arts.
