Latin was my first love, and music is my second. I've utterly fallen for those of the soulful, creative, inspiring and inciting kind. The one composed with heart and soul, the one performed with passion and aplomb. Searching for a way to express my love for and enthusiasm about music, I've found twitter is a decent and effective place to do so, yet given my wordy nature 140 characters one day simply didn't suffice to promote the music I enjoy anymore. This is how my music blog - carpe carmina - came into being (a heartfelt thank-you goes out to my favourite UK band High/Low for the encouragement to start writing about music, to my all time favourite band for so many years by now, Midnight Hour, for making me realize my affection for music and my wish to help those artists in whose talent I believe in, and to all those people who read my blog, who recommend and submit music for it). Chris Willis aka The Gentleman Busker started playing music from an early age starting on the drums which he was taught to play by his father, he then started getting guitar lessons at age 16 but after a year and a half of lessons stopped and has been self-taught from then onwards. 
He started off performing cover songs in Newcastle’s Open Mic scene and busking in central arcade & Northumberland Street, before building the courage to start writing his own material and start performing at gigs around the Northeast.
Mainly writing songs based on his own experiences The Gentleman Busker constantly strives to push forward and grow as an artist and performer.

Paige Temperley is a sophisticated British singer-songwriter and guitarist from the North East of England.

Sam Gibson is a critically acclaimed touring artist from Newcastle Upon Tyne UK. His song writing and unique guitar based blend of acoustic rock really stands out from the crowd. Taking inspiration from a wide rage of artists in his record collection, his style reflects his massive love for music by embracing all styles and genres. His First E.P (Before All Else) is growing in popularity and together with the endorsement deal with Tanglewood Guitar Company in 2013 there is a real buzz around him. His full length album Plastic Universe is now avalible 

Pip Mountjoy is a 21 year old singer songwriter from Yorkshire, with a tone, style, and look that rivals Laura Marling. Championed by BBC Introducing, she has toured the UK extensively, supporting the likes of Ryan Adams, John Smith, Slow Club, playing festivals such as Glastonbury, Isle of Wight and Cambridge Folk, and leaving audiences "simultaneously entertained, depressed, amused, bemused and delighted".

Wilf Stone is a 23 year old based in rural Northumberland. Over the years he has been a part of various bands and groups including the popular festival ska/reggae band Pikey Beatz. Drawing on his experiences from over the years Wilf delivers his first solo venture. Combining influences from all walks of music, reggae, soul, jazz and rock all play a part in his sound, set against a back drop of acoustic folk. With a love of words and language Wilf's songs are thought provoking and passionately written, inspired by his own life experiences and by those of people around him, his outlook on life and philosophy and therefore his music is evidently influenced by those he holds dear.

Scott Dolan is from Caister-On-Sea in Norfolk, England and earned his stripes performing acoustically and at first reluctantly, around the North East of England where he lives now. As he fell in love with writing and performing, a theme emerged. Parallels between the redemptive elements of American music and an English small-town sensibility permeated his own music and lyrics. Currently, he continues to write, perform and record with a collective of talented friends joining him along the way.
