As part of my placement in the final year in the Masters program at MIECAT Institute, I have engaged in ongoing intersubjective responses. These responses have been improvisational, responding to my felt sense of interactions and events while on placement. These are not perfect pieces. Some of the pianos desperately need tuning (apologies to those listening who have perfect pitch!). Perhaps this reflects my inner state!

Melody Moon collects inspiration and samples from the natural world she inhabits on the Surf Coast of Victoria. Singing in sentiments of personal growth backed by finely produced frog call beats and river rhythms, the multi-instrumentalist creatively champions a re-connection with nature while delivering a pleasing pop sound.
She has been likened to artists such as Julia Stone and Sarah Blasko, but then she soars off into Jeff Buckley vibrato with wings flapping- tree creaking clap-a-long accompaniment and it’s clear: Melody Moon is creating a genre of her own. 
Her song ‘Out of the City’ hit the top 10 on the Amrap AirIt Charts with the release of her first EP ‘Little Hopes’ in 2011. Since then she has been a welcomed guest on radio shows across Australia, from ABC in Bega to Bay FM in Byron Bay to Kiss FM and Triple RRR in Melbourne. 
Now with a collection of 4 EPs and an album, ranging from folk to pop to meditation and yoga music, Melody is excited to be entwining all of her music passions into one with diverse new EP 'Grow in Slow Motion' out October 30th, 2021. 

"Just wonderful" - Sophie Longden, ABC Radio, South East NSW

The son of two musicians, Jed Rowe grew up in rural NSW and relocated to Melbourne in 2003. He showed early promise as an author, winning a national undergraduate short story writing award. He released a solo EP Life (2006) before forming The Jed Rowe Band and releasing two albums: Midnight Sun (2009) and The Ember And The Afterglow (2012), which was produced by ARIA Winner Jeff Lang. His work has garnered critical acclaim and national radio airplay, and he was awarded a highly competitive Arts Victoria contemporary music grant in 2012. A festival regular, Rowe has performed at Tamworth Country Music Festival, Port Fairy Folk Festival and Thredbo Blues Festival amongst others. In 2014 Rowe toured internationally for the first time, playing 25 solo dates in Europe in just 24 days.

Melbourne based singer-songwriter Belinda Wickens brings a deep, poignant presence and a raw expressiveness to her collection of gentle and ambient medicine songs for the soul. A blend of alternative folk, ambient rock, a twist of bossa nova, and a sweet spot of pop.
