A one-night historical song-cycle set around the fall of Fort Washington in 1776, told entirely through sung narration. A female storyteller guides us through a candlelit meetinghouse, up to the river heights, and into the chaos of battle. When John falls at the cannon, Margaret Corbin steps into the fire and does the work anyway. The album follows the aftermath—wounded lists, surrender, prisoner roads—then closes at dawn with “Margaret,” before rolling into the end-credits anthem “Glories, Still We Carry.”
