Welcome to the 2nd outing of a fortnightly RF Radio mix from Glasgow's Riverside Festival. While we count down the months until we are back down by the Clyde, we will be dropping a mix every 2 weeks so follow this page. This week we are proud to present IDA. Hailing from Helsinki & now based in Berlin after a few years gracing Glasgow. IDA’s style is influenced by 80s Chicago, with plenty of acid-themed beats and 303 basslines. She’s played often at our Maximum Pressure nights as well as being a frequent guest at The Riverside Festival. Her Acid Flash parties quickly became an exciting fixture on Scotland’s club circuit, with a new residency in Glasgow’s Sub Club starting just before the lockdown.

She recently launched her own label: Sävy, with releases which neatly weave together an intriguing blend of old and new. Like her DJ style - Traversing the spectrum of techno, electro, breaks, acid house and other unique sounds.

Welcome to a new episode of RFRadio. DJ and Producer LISALÖÖF has been making waves throughout the country with her raw, experimental sound. Lisa is a regular on the Glasgow circuit supporting acts such as Charlotte De Witte at SWG3's Galvanizers. Along with festival dates locked in for 2021 LISALÖÖF  has a number of upcoming releases planned including with Glasgow’s own Soma Records.

Welcome to a new episode of RFRadio. Kouncil Cuts is an independent record label created by Inverness artist Mark Mackenzie established in 2019.

The opportunity to create the label came in 2019. After being made redundant in his job as result of national austerity and budget cuts, Mark used his insolvency pay to press the labels first record. The situation inspired the name, Kouncil Cuts (with the 'K' for legal reasons!).

The first release - the 'Homegrown VA' - featured four emerging Highland artists. It went on to gather support from some of the worlds most renowned DJs such as The Blessed Madonna, Leftfield and Giles Peterson. UK Bass Music described it as 'one of the best releases of the year'. 

Since then the label has grown strength to strength, with further EP releases from artists Stones Taro, BufoBufo, J Wax, Corbi and Gowans, and with many more featuring on the labels VA series 'Community Cuts'. Regular fans of the label's releases have included the likes of Skream, Sherelle, Dusky, Maceo Plex and Shadow Child, among many others.

Far up, deep down. All in, kicked out. Bright, dark, fast, and slow. What’s out there? Who the hell are you? Pierrot is sharing sounds collected over the years, recently dug up or ran into.

For this month’s episode, Pierrot invited Of Paradise - a UK-based record label run by Lauren Chalmers and Paul Patterson - taking care of the second hour with a collection of mostly new and old breaks and techno cuts they really love. There's some really deep and trippy tracks in here with a tribal and percussive flavour.

Unexpected Delight w/ Pierrot & Of Paradise - May 25 2021

Highly Minogue is the co-founder of local crew Extended Family and a producer who dabbles in fun, infectious garage and house rhythms. He is also the host of Spinning Around on Area 3000, a weekly show which airs every Monday featuring guest mixes and interviews. On this impressive 23-track mix, he tinkers with many genres ranging from UK funky to acid house and even some jungle (and everything in between). It’s a dense journey that leans towards the percussive and darker side of the dance music spectrum. 

*Highly dedicates this mix to Extended Family crewmate Winnie the Wu (@winniethewu), who blessed him with the wisdom to spread his wings on this mix.
