SONIDO POSTAL - CONFLUENCE
De forma artificial, el audio toma forma de collage progresivo, donde la mezcla de grabaciones de campo comienzan en entornos naturales, con sonidos que representan esa espacialidad, poco a poco va mutando hacia sonidos en los cuales los humanos tienen alguna participación más directa, dilucidando de a poco un sonido más urbano, hasta terminar en el ruido de la ciudad, que refleja más la parte industrial de la misma.
Confluencia retrata una mínima posibilidad de las diferencias y similitudes que pueden contener estos entornos, pudiendo ser apreciados a través del sonido y la representación visual imaginativa, ya sea del lago o el mar, hasta la ciudad.
El audio es una recolección de grabaciones de campo realizadas en diferentes lugares de Argentina, realizado por Damián Alférez:
- Playa acantilados, Mar del plata (sonidos de piedras y el mar).
- Laguna de los Padres, Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires (sonidos del agua, cotorras, gente, insectos).
- Chapadmalal, Buenos Aires (sonidos de ranas y perros).
- Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires ( sonido de gotas de agua en un departamento).
- Puerto Madryn, Chubut (sonidos de la calle, llamadores de ángeles, skates).
- Centro de la ciudad de Mar del Plata (sonidos de vehículos, ventiladores, interferencias).
- José Marmol, Buenos Aires (sonidos de vehículos, y vendedor de chatarra)

Confluence

Two rigs simultaneously recording the same dawn within the same landscape, located about half a kilometre apart. The beautiful calls of a Pied Butcherbird can be heard from each location. Its first two sequences of calls are nearer to the first location (Perspective 1), in the background of a flurry of foreground bird activity. Its third sequence of calls are very near to the second location (Perspective 2), within a rather different soundscape mood. But all three sequences are heard from both locations, either as distant or as near.

Recorded in my garden on Sunday 3/22/20207AM - the weather was cold and clear, with a some wind from the Northeast. It's hard to see on the picture, but there's frost on the lawn. The track begins and ends with my footsteps going and coming - I left it in just because.... 
It was pretty quiet, there's birds of course...and a group of ravens - 6 or maybe 8 -  They're flying around "talking" or whatever, very funny. You can hear them flying by a couple of times and even hear the wings flapping. You hear the wind rustling the dead leaves on the hedge, and making the tall trees whisper
I recorded with 2 Lewitt LCT 540´s in NOS and Sound Devices MixPre3 II 32 Bit float. I did a 60 hz low-cut in post to get rid of some low wind rumble

Recorded in my garden on Tuesday 4:14:2020 11.00AM - the weather was cold and clear with a little wind. 
I went out to get something in my workshop/shed and heard the sound of a large flock of starlings hanging out in the large spruce in the picture. I've heard a few times before but never had the chance to record them.... there's a few other nice sounds - from other birds as well as people... enjoy
EDIT my neighbour heard the birds as well, and he said they were fieldfares...

Recorded in my garden on Saturday 4:18:2020 1.00PM - the weather was really nice and clear with a little wind. 
I my garden I have a patio with two peartrees growing up agains a wall. The trees are flowering right now, and bees come to visit... I love bees and the sound they make, so I set up my gear to record and went about to do other stuff... You hear me setting up the recorder and walking away, shutting my sliding door and then the sounds of the bees, birds my neighbors, people talking on the dirt road behind my house... sounds pretty normal for a Saturday - maybe a little less traffic, and definitely no airplanes. The track is quite long and unprocessed except for gain setting/normalizing

Recorded in my garden on Monday 4:27:2020 8.00PM - the weather was calm and grey with very little wind. 
Right outside my garde hedge there’s a dirt road - used by the townspeople jogging, walking their dogs and riding horses from the farm close to my house. Tonight I noticed a pair of horses walking on the far end of the dirt road, so I went to set up my microphones to catch them as they walked back to the farm - it took a little longer than I anticipated - but I recorded a lot of other wonderful sounds. The recording starts with the first jet I’ve noticed in a long time… There’s a rumble from the farmers tractor, my neighbors furnace, birds singing and my pigeon pair flying about, a person walking briskly in the gravel  and the kids down the block playing a form of street tennis with their dad having fun - towards the end you hear the woman with the horses returning while they talk… a bee flying close to the mics and a dog barking from a distance and finally me walking back to stop the recording.
The track is unprocessed except for gain setting/normalizing

Recorded in my garden on Friday 5:1:2020 8.00PM - the weather was rainy with very little wind. 
It's been raining on and off all day and I have been trying to get a good recording since this morning. I finally decided to go to the front of my house to set up the mics under a large bush. I wanted to avoid to many drops hitting the mics. That turned out to be a pretty good plan as I mannaged to record the sound of the rain as well as the birds and even a couple of bees taking shelter from the rain. You can hear sounds coming from my house as well as from my neighbors.
The track is unprocessed except for gain setting/normalizing

Recorded in my front garden on Wednesday 5:6:2020 12 noon - the weather was sunny and pretty windy 
Every year on the first Wednesday of May, exactly at noon, the air raid sirens are tested all over Denmark. They blow them three times 4 minutes apart - the first two signals tell you to go inside and turn on the news, the final one is the “all clear” signal… When I was growing up they tested them every Wednesday - I guess the world is safer now?
I reduced the low end a bit to get rid of some of the wind…other than that, the track is unprocessed except for gain setting/normalizing
