Midnight Musicbox is the creative culmination of singer, songwriter, multi- instrumentalist and producer, Jaime Martinez. Jaime has been active in the California music scene for over 10 years working within mostly progressive rock projects. Midnight Musicbox is the product of profound suffering and equal part hope. The electronic and acoustic sounds and themes trapped within time are dark, hopeful and honest.

Gian Luca Naldi nasce a Bologna in un quartiere di periferia al confine fra città e campagna, 
vicinissimo alla ferrovia. Gli ampi spazi a disposizione per i giochi, il continuo passaggio dei 
treni lo fanno sentire un vero e proprio "ragazzo della via Gluck" e questa sensazione di 
libertà totale influenzerà per sempre la sua esistenza. 
Si innamora della musica prestissimo, la mamma, casalinga, sbriga le faccende tenendo la 
radio accesa per cantare sopra ai brani in onda e in questo modo gli trasmette la sua 
passione. A tredici anni gli regalano la sua prima chitarra che impara a suonare da 
autodidatta cercando di emulare i grandi cantautori del periodo, primo fra tutti Fabrizio De 
Andrè che per anni rimarrà il suo riferimento principale. 
Crescendo allarga i suoi orizzonti musicali, vive il periodo forse piu' prolifico per la musica sia 
italiana che internazionale, quello a cavallo degli anni 80 e ascolta di tutto dai Pink Floyd a 
Lucio Dalla. 
Dopo gli inevitabili tentativi con vari gruppi rock nei primi anni 90 decide di iscriversi alla SIAE
e cimentarsi come autore/cantautore. 
Alcune esperienze non proprio gratificanti con gli " addetti ai lavori " lo rendono consapevole 
della difficoltà di emergere e lo demotivano dal continuare a scrivere. 
Da sempre appassionato di musica folk si innamora del suono del banjo a 5 corde che per 
diversi anni suona con una band bolognese di musica bluegrass sia in Italia che in Europa. 
Solo recentemente, alcuni episodi dolorosi che lo segnano profondamente risvegliano in lui 
quella voglia di realizzare i propri sogni nel cassetto e di rimettersi in gioco come cantautore. 
Ricomincia a scrivere canzoni, e cercando di avere riscontri e pareri, ha la fortuna di 
conoscere la grande Iskra Menarini che lo spronerà a continuare e ad insistere. 
Sarà proprio Iskra ad indirizzarlo verso la San Luca Sound, etichetta bolognese dove Gian 
Luca sta portando avanti il suo progetto cantautoriale.
Il suo primo singolo “ Ancora un’altra volta “ registrato negli studi della San Luca Sound sotto la supervisione di Renato Droghetti e Manuel Auteri entra subito nella classifica Indie Music Like del circuito MEI come uno dei brani piu’ trasmessi dalle radio italiane indipendenti.
Anche il videoclip relativo , realizzato dal regista e operatore video Alberto Pasi ottiene un notevole riscontro su You Tube.
Lo scorso settembre 2013 Gian Luca è uscito con un secondo singolo “ Io compro l’oro “ ( in collaborazione con Ettore Cimpincio, fonico e chitarrista che ne ha curato gli arrangiamenti ), che ancora una volta si è guadagnato un posto fra i brani più programmati nelle radio del circuito indie italiano e anche estero.
In questi giorni sta lavorando ad un progetto che sognava da tempo, un concerto dal vivo per proporre i propri inediti nella città che ama, la sua Bologna.

Gian Luca Naldi was born in Bologna in a suburban neighborhood on the border between town and country ,
very close to the railway. The wide open spaces available for the games, the continuous passage of
