Pluie/Noir Podcast is a bi-monthly audio-visual episode representing our work as an artist collective. Each episode will feature a one hour collage/mix by one of our producers/djs and a poster triptych by one of our designers. 
We interviewed both artists and dropped some questions about their vision:


RACK

Welcome Monsieur Nico. How are you feeling lately?
Rack: Quite good, I'm really happy about releasing this podcast as it is something new for me. Plus, I'm done with university, I'm currently on holidays, and I've been experiencing with some new sounds. What more could I ask for?

How's Paris and it's underground music scene? 
Rack: Paris is slowly waking up, music wise. The number of promoters and parties have increased for the past few years, that's a good thing, but the quality isn't always there. If you know where to look, it shouldn't be a problem finding a good party. I think Paris hasn't gotten its musical identity yet, and the overall crowd still needs to be or get musically educated but it definitely has the potential to become better with time. 

This podcast shown us a side of you far from the 4 to the floor. Is it personal or also a possible direction in your musical career? 
Rack: Indeed, most of the tracks are very personal for me. Each of them have a specific memory or state of mind attached to them and I've always loved music that is very visually and mentally driven. I actually discovered electronic music through these kind of tracks, especially trip-hop and ambient music. Production wise too, I haven't made any tracks like that until recently. It was a quite interesting and enjoyable experience so, yes, it might be a new direction. Who knows?

When & How did you record this podcast?
Rack:  I've recorded this podcast over the course of almost two months. This is my very first mix, so I wanted to do it the best I can. The more I recorded it, the more I was learning and enjoying playing around and layering sounds. The track selection also took a while as I wanted to record something that could show my musical roots. 

Future plans? 
Rack: Holidays! Then I will try to find a job.. I'm not sure if it'll be easy but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Otherwise, I'm looking forward for my first releases this year, I'm quite excited.

JULIA

Madame Julia, how have you been?
Julia: Very well. Loads of good things happened to me since the past three months.  T   he triptych is part of it.

How are your art studies?
Julia: My studies are just FUN! It's the opportunity to experiment with a lot of different medias. To play around, trying to give original answer through weird shapes, colors..

You live your life divided between two cities, Paris and London. How's the art scene in both places?
Julia: The art scene is very different. In london everything seems to be easier, more accessible. People are keen to work on different kinds of projects. They are very open minded. In Paris everything seems to be more complicated. You have to respect a certain academicism in your technics, and in your way to see things; otherwise your work will struggle to find recognition. London gave me opportunities that I would never find in Paris.

What can you tell us about your triptych?
The paintings follow the colors of the music  itself:
Blue - Sad and melancholic ;
Red- Murky, creepy, gloomy;
Yellow - Blurry .

Do more paintings , more travel s, and work on the next Sharingtones releases.

Space Oddity - Choir Choir  Choir          ............A tribute concert can be a tricky proposition, as Bowie himself discovered with his much-derided recital of the Lord's Prayer at the 1992 Freddie Mercury memorial at Wembley. Yet, the tone at Radio City was dignified and true to Bowie's questing spirit. Jazz fusionist Esperanza Spalding evoked the singer's high-soaring derring-do with her sci-fi tilt at If You Can See Me while a feverish interpretation of Blackstar (by Amanda Palmer, Anna Calvi and Jherek Bischoff) acknowledged the fascinating music Bowie was making right until the end. Not everyone plunged so deeply and darkly, with Mumford and Sons and Blondie bashing out straight-forwardly emotive readings of It Ain't Easy and Heroes.

Time Heals

Time Heals (feat. Keyon Harold, Derrick Hodge, Chris Dave, Mike Aaberg & Errol Cooney)

Since his desperately early death in May 1997, there's been an inevitable mythologising about the life and music of Jeff Buckley. Perhaps it's not surprising that in the posthumous rush to acknowledge his genius, memories have been clouded or, retrospectively, given a silver lining.

The quiet, uncertain foundations of his reputation were laid on a solo tour of Europe three years earlier, in March 1994 - and, in particular, during one day. On the 18th March, Buckley was scheduled for a photo shoot (with Kevin Westenberg), an appearance on BBC GLR and his first proper London concert, at a folk club called Bunjies.

In 'The Grace of Jeff Buckley', those who were there speak for the first time about the man and his music: Buckley's American manager Dave Lory, his UK tour manager Steve Abbott, booking agent Emma Banks and photographer Kevin Westenberg share intimate memories that have so far not featured in the Buckley biography.

And the programme also includes rare archive: the GLR radio session that has not been heard since that live broadcast in 1994 - including an astonishing version of 'Grace' - and, exclusively, a private interview that Buckley recorded on the eve of this tour but decided not to release.

Together, these glimpses offer a portrait of a young man whose voice and musicianship, as well as his irresistible charisma and the trauma of his early death, touched millions.

Celebrating the 75th birthday of Mr Roy Ayers with this mix, showcasing some of my favourite tracks from his slightly lesser known material… Well, I mean compared to tracks like Everybody

I also hear new stuff that I hadn’t noticed before when I listen to his music - the track with Jack Wilson that opens the mix up is so heavy and cosmic for its time, and I’d forgotten about the track with Wayne Henderson! There are so many great albums out there including the 2 Virgin Ubiquities BBE put out... We could devote a whole week of radio programmes to Roy, his archive is so large… 

He is the key to all things between jazz, soul, disco and hip hop…. Thank you roy for all the music...
